Crazy!! day on the water with a storm decimating the fleet. The day started with a strong not Easter and a super fun lite run down to the start at balmoral. On race start the wind started to drop, and by the top mark was next to nothing.

Then things got eery. Without explanation the rescue boat pulled up the top mark, implying we were done for the day and the breeze started to go left......until a front came thru and started to build from the West. At first it was strong but not crazy, and we all roared back towards the club having fun. Just as we got to the moored boats the real squall hit with a 40kt kaboom. Annika and I took off at a ridiculous speed thru the moored boats, somehow managed to miss all of em and got back to the club in a wild wild ride. Boats flattened everywhere and some broken rigs amongst the 16s. The footage on the fb site is spectacular.

Running 45:00 [3]

A snappy 5k because I was short for time rather than chasing any specific training goal. 19:40.

Running 50:00 [3]

Chat run around the Bay with Bull. Soooo tired in the legs when I started, and pretty tired in general by the end. Almost felt like I was running with a hunger flat the whole time, but wasn't. Glad to be dragged around by Bull.

Running 1:30:00 [3]

Tuesday beachy from Dee Why down to Manly and back. When I reached Manly I had a crack at the 5k segment from North Steyne to Shelley....and popped after 4k...resulting in a bit of a grind to get back home. Urgh.

Running 1:00:00 [3]

Tempo session at Homebush while Annika trained jav. Plan was to roll out a 10k loop, which started OK but was refined to 4/3/2/1k plan with a break because a) it was hot, b) I had to sail in the afternoon and c) cbf.

Then after the 4/3k I decided to drop the 2 & 1k for a pretty tame effort.

Day 2 of the 13" States. Some back to back time in the boat was good for some skill reinforcement, and the 15kt nor easter made things kinda fun. Starting to steadily improve, and enjoyed some cracking runs under kite. Good times with the chook.
