Sunday Jun 15

Note
slept:2.0 (rest day)
Stayed out at Jukola watching all night, which went really quickly because the sun only set for a short time! It was raining and cold, but a great atmosphere all night and it was great seeing everyone finishing! I also made some choc-chip cookies for the trip and managed to eat a fair few throughout the night! No training today, way too tired!

Saturday Jun 14

Event: Jukola 2008

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3]2 km (10:00 / km)
Getting ready/waiting for our 2nd leg runner to get back from her course. Very excited the whole time!
Orienteering race (Venla - 3rd leg) 51:32 [4]6.4 km (8:03 / km)
Third leg of the Venla Relay, lots of fun! I had a pretty good run considering my lack of running over the past few months! I didn't make any big mistakes, was just a bit hesitant at points. There was plenty of tracking out there which made the running somewhat easier, although it was quite green and tough underfoot at times. I took some anti-inflams before running because I didn't want to feel my ankle (prob not the best idea) but it helped because I didn't notice it the whole way round... was more focused on not getting lost I think!

Friday Jun 13

Orienteering (Model Map - Jukola) 38:00 [3]
Easy jog around some of the controls on the model map for Jukola. It was nice to do some navigating in the bush, no mistakes.. but I think it isn't that difficult when I'm going so slow!

Thursday Jun 12

Running 26:41 [3]4.6 km (5:48 / km)
Went for a jog on the trails near our house, added in some 15sec fast/15sec normal in the middle to try and remind myself that I can run faster than I have been running over the past two weeks! Felt really good, ankle a bit unsteady on the single trails but otherwise good.

Wednesday Jun 11

Pilates (Jade) 30:00 [2]
Was tough today after yesterdays core work.
Cycling (Spincykling) 50:00 [3]
My own session at the gym, felt good until another girl got on the bike next to me and started spinning a lot faster! I had my own little race with her and I think I lost... made it a tough ending to the session though which was good! I hate fast spinning, much prefer the climbs!

Tuesday Jun 10

Running warm up/down (Incl. recoveries) 41:31 [3]5.7 km (7:17 / km)
Started off very slowly because ankle takes a while to warm up, but otherwise a really nice run around the elljusspår at Lugnet. Very slow compared to a few months ago, but I guess it can only get better from here at least!
Running intervals (Hills) 10:54 [4]2.24 km (4:52 / km)
8x280m hill intervals. Felt good to do hills again, they are definitely my favourite type of interval. They were pretty tough and slow, but it felt great to have done them. Ankle (peroneal tendon) pulled up a bit tight afterwards though which is a bit annoying. (First interval was the fastest - whoops, but they were all about the same after that!)
Weights (Upper Body + some core) 30:00 [2]

Monday Jun 9

Cycling (Spincykling) 40:00 [3]
After a weekend of running I decided to give my ankle a rest and do some more cycling... it was good and it's always fun working out to loud music!
Pilates (Jade) 30:00 [2]
Felt sick the whole way through because I stupidly decided to do it after dinner!
