Rowing 1:05:00 [1]
This time I took a safe choice to Tihulahti and back (my usual route). The weather was actually really nice and we saw a loon and and some cute baby gulls.

This week I was mostly just charging my batteries and got ready for the summer training period. Some pretty boring basic training and lots of hours + 2 O-weeks coming up. I should write a summary of the spring season. Maybe tomorrow then. I also should "publish" my goals for the autumn + a rehabilitation plan for my foot. Those are important parts of my mental training plan. I mean... When you write down your goals (or make them public) you make them more real and you can't back down anymore.

Rowing 1:00:00 [1]
ahr:116 max:175
Rowing at our cottage is one of the most relaxing things I know. There's a beautiful lake and we have a good rowing boat. But today it was no picnic.
It was a bit windy when we left but the sky was blue. We were supposed to row to Suonsalmi and back (or actually I was supposed to row and my friend Ansku was supposed to sit and enjoy the scenery). But I didn't like the waves that seemed to be getting bigger and decided to turn back in the halfway to Suonsalmi. When I turned the boat, I nearly panicked when I realized that the side-headwind was seriously strong and that there was no way I could row back the same route. The waves were rocking our little boat quite a bit... But luckily I'm an experienced rower so a took a good route choice along the shores and brought us back home before the thunderstorm. But I really had to ROW!

BTW I had a cider after sauna again. I have to be careful that I don't become an alcoholic... ;)

Note
(rest day)
A lazy day. It was too windy to go rowing. I did all kinds of "cottage things" like planting flowers, watching birds, playing petanque, going to sauna and "swimming" in the lake, having a cider after sauna, making pancakes outdoors...

Cycling 2:35:00 [1]

Paloheinä - Vanhankaupunginlahti - Viikki - Herttoniemi - Kulosaari - Kumpula (a little pitstop) - Pasila - Laakso - Haaga - Pirkkola - Paloheinä. My thighs were aching a bit in the end. Gave them a cold shower.

I'll be driving to our cottage in the evening like most of the Finns (- to their own cottages of course, not to ours...) to celebrate the midsummer. I won't be taking my running shoes with me. I'm cutting my running hours down to the minimum for a while again.

Wednesday Jun 18

Cycling 45:00 [1]
to work and back.

Tuesday Jun 17

Note
(rest day)
Still tired. I ate a lot of cake and cookies etc. at my aunt's and uncle's bithday party.

Orienteering 1:10:00 [1]**
ahr:124 max:155
Collecting last Monday's "Iltarastit" controls in Salmi with Bindi. I was lucky that he wanted to still do a training before going back to Austria. Otherwise it would have taken a lot longer... I was very tired.
