Running warm up/down 10:00 [1]

Orienteering race (One-man-relay) 50:07 [4] 6.0 km (8:21 / km)

4/9. +6' (Sonja Liukkonen)
I had bigger expectations for this "one-man-relay". Ok, it was a mass start race so there was that "relay feeling". But I thought there would be more and much bigger butterflies... There was only one mini butterfly in the women's course.
I got stuck behind some slower people after the start and caught Tiina just after the second mini butterfly loop. It was clear from the beginning that I wasn't going to get out of my comfort zone today, I simply didn't have the legs for it. I stopped to drink at the refreshment control and Tiina got a little bit ahead of me there. She wasn't going to get out of her comfort zone either so I was able to catch her again and we sort of just jogged and chatted together for a while. I was afraid that she would decide to challenge me for a proper sprint in the inrun so I made my move already as soon as we got to the road on the way to the last control, and I didn't look back.

I have to say that I was slightly gutted after seeing in the results that the 3rd place was only 30 secs away... It was really hard to tell who was in which class because we didn't have number bibs. Top 3 would have been nice even though only the winner got a prize...

Running warm up/down 15:00 [1]

Orienteering race 54:23 [4] 6.4 km (8:30 / km)

W21 8/20. +10.45 (Anna Edenbrandt)
I was really not recovered from yesterday. My legs were powerless and I had to really fight to keep them moving at a decent pace. I was somehow nervous/too hasty in the beginning and made some stupid smaller and slightly bigger mistakes. Then there was some painful running, a few legs of good orienteering (legs also felt a bit better) and then a bigger mistake to the 3rd last control and an unlucky route choice to the second last control. Not an easy race for me today mostly beacuse it felt so difficult physically.

Event: springcup

8 PM

Running warm up/down 10:00 [1]

Orienteering race (NightSprint) 35:29 [3] 3.8 km (9:20 / km)

I don't know why they call it "sprint" because it was simply a normal middle distance course. I can't even remember when was the last time that I ran in a snow-free forest... Too long ago anyway because my legs didn't seem to remember how they're supposed to move. Night-o really isn't a problem with my current head lamp, although I had some slight problems with the head piece (it simply wasn't tight enough). I didn't seem to manage to keep a straight bearing in the beginning, but towards the end I kind of remembered how it's supposed to be done. Felt like a beginner though. Quite happy with the result (5/17., 2min behind Tiina who was second and lost 5'30 to some tough Latvian girl).

Swimming 45:00 [2]

Left heel has been a feeling a little sore lately so I had nothing against it when Frodo asked me to go swimming with him. I had already thought about it anyway... I swam mostly breaststroke and a bit of crawl inbetween. I didn't count, but Frodo said we swam 1050m.
