I bought a Forerunner 210 yesterday. Just walked into the Jukola Intersport tent, asked a few questions from the Garmin guy and walked out with a gps sport watch. It's so not like me to buy something without giving it much thought but I do like my new watch very much. :)

Running warm up/down 30:00 [1]

20'+10'.

Orienteering race 39:09 [4] 5.1 km (7:41 / km)

3rd leg in HS3
It was a lovely little leg and for once it was nice nice to run without any pressure. Went out as 230, started full throttle and caught Kaija before #1. Made a tiny mistake to #2 so we punched at the same time there. Kept on pushing hard but was a bit slow in a marshy area where there were a lot of ditches to jump over and had to walk in a steep uphill. Also got a bit stuck in a bush just before #3, I just couldn't decide if I should have gone round it from left or right. Stupid. There were lots of people at #3 (I'm not sure where they came from because I had been running almost alone so far). 99% of the people I saw at that control went to the right and I went to my own (left) forking. I was a bit shaky there though. On the way to #5 I was somehow drawn too much to the left and really wasn't sure where I was... Then finally realized where I had to be and also saw lots of people running from right to left so I figured my control had to be in the right. My mother's team's 2nd leg runner confirmed my guess. Lost maybe 1,5-2' there but "the routechoice" wasn't actually that bad. Saw Kaija going to #5 when I was running in the half way to the next control so she made the same mistake as well. There were lots of these 2nd leg slow runners all the way from #5 to #7 but luckily I didn't get stuck behind them. To #8 I again had to separate from the pack and go to my own forking. #9 was and easy long leg and there were again lots of people. #10 was pretty tricky and I really had to concentrate there. Then there was a big path to the last control and some suffering to the change-over. Didn't even have time to check my position, but later the results told me that I gained 51 positions and came in as 179. Well done, I suppose. :)

Fastest time of the leg was Tove Alexandersson's 29:35. So I was quite far away from that but I was the second best HS woman in the 3rd leg and 1'50 behind Pihla. Leg position 94/1014.
