North district cross country, Nairn.

Still feeling a bit nervous about racing when i woke up this morning - still some occasional coughing and heart rate not as low as I'd like. Thought a race would show me whether I'm ok or not!

Didn't (couldn't?!) charge off as quickly as other girls up and over sand dunes at the beginning, but reeled them in over the first half of the trace. Realised I was slowly catching the leading girl too, but too slowly. I couldn't quite bridge the gap. Finished 2nd.

Mostly delighted that I ran 2 minutes quicker than the same course this time last year!! Chuffed :)

8 x 5min/1min up Cairngorm from the Sugarbowl in the dark! I felt like a bit of a mad person running up Cairngorm in the dark, but something very satisfying about it too!

Really windy, in my face on the climb, so a struggle to keep moving at times. Last 3 reps also had places with a decent amount of snow, or blown bare and icy.

Pretty exhilarating feeling being at the top in the dark, alone except for Midge. Didn't hang around long as it was freezing!

Night-o in Anagach (Poorhouse Wood). Really loving Tuesday night training at the moment :) 2 courses and then collected in controls. Clean navigation.

Midge was a trooper - 70 minutes of knee high heather, I was feeling smug having long legs (although 4 legs must be an advantage over 2!).

Weights. Legs feeling really spritely today :) still the odd nasty cough. Easy week this week, hopefully get in a hard session before xc at the weekend though.
