Elliptigo 44:12 intensity: (1:03 @0) + (2:28 @1) + (12:57 @2) + (24:37 @3) + (3:07 @4) 17.73 km (24.1 kph) +147m
ahr:141 max:156 (injured) shoes: Elliptigo

Really tired, and coming down with a cold. I'd intended to go for a decent spin out in the sunshine after work, but it was all I could do to keep going on this little trundle. At least my knee was declared signficantly improved at the physio this morning. TRIMP 79.4.

Elliptigo 45:41 intensity: (36 @0) + (7 @1) + (51 @2) + (19:58 @3) + (23:06 @4) + (1:03 @5) 19.92 km (26.2 kph) +115m
ahr:152 max:221 (injured) shoes: Elliptigo

A frustrating day at the JK relays - great results for FVO, but it was hard not to be glum about not being able to take part - and late back, which meant that I just had time for a short spin out on the Elliptigo before dinner and getting two very tired kids to bed. Glad to get out, just wish I'd been able to make more of the day. TRIMP 108.2.

Cycling (Road) 1:23:41 intensity: (12:27 @0) + (22:01 @1) + (32:33 @2) + (15:23 @3) + (1:17 @4) 29.81 km (21.4 kph) +409m

JK day 3 at Bigland - misty for most of our time at the event, although the string course was once again lovely (if a trek to get to!). Dragging J&E around the white was less lovely. My cycle back through Grizedale made up for it, though - the sun came out, and I think I was grinning from ear to ear the entire journey. I even didn't mind the 10-minute detour after having taken the wrong turning in Rusland, nor nearly burning out my brake discs behind some numpty crawling down the hill from Moor Top to Hawkshead. I'd have gone past but he took up the whole road on every corner. A**e. Good grind back up Hawkshead Hill. Resisted - just - the temptation to go on down into Coniston for refreshment in one of the many beer gardens by the lake. TRIMP 107.5.

A lovely day at JK day 2, but only partly envious of those getting to orienteer, because I knew that I'd almost certainly have hated the area; glad I found a willing recipient for my entry, too. Good string course - fabby Wainwright-esque maps. My exercise came after the event, when I got on my bike and cycled back to the accommodation. I didn't want to push things too much - my knee had definitely not like yesterday, and was a bit grumbly - so took the direct (but very lumpy!) road from Broughton to Torver. Everything still felt OK so I turned south at Torver, crossed the river at Water Yeat and cycled back up the quiet east side of Coniston Water. A lovely cycle on a gorgeous day. TRIMP 112.6.

Orienteering race 20:12 intensity: (12 @0) + (7 @1) + (11 @2) + (2:21 @3) + (16:05 @4) + (1:16 @5) 3.9 km (5:11 / km) +12m 5:06 / km
ahr:156 max:167 (injured) shoes: Asics Gel Cumulus 15 GTX

JK Sprint, Lancaster University - M40L. Decided to at least attempt to tootle around this, and did so - running at about 60% on the flat straight bits and slowing right down on corners and walking anything slippy. The grassy bits were extremely slick in trainers, and some of the paved areas weren't much better, TBH. Surprised to be only 4.5 minutes down despite the relaxed pace, although I was also surprised - having been about to observe that jogging around a sprint-O made it all seem quite trivial, navigationally - to discover that I'd actually mis-punched. Which just goes to show that pottering and not concentrating can be just as bad as pegging it and not concentrating. Oh well, I wasn't in any way disappointed. Knee felt mostly OK, but was a little tweaky on corners and ascents/descents. TRIMP 53.4

ahr:148 max:167 slept:7.5 (injured) shoes: Elliptigo

I can finally go downstairs without my right knee throwing a hissy fit. Celebrated with a lunchtime Elliptigo scoot around Kinbuck, Auchinlay Road and the Doune loop. Better hydrated today and feeling fine. Sunny and almost warm, huzzah! TRIMP 129.2.

Elliptigo 1:00:12 intensity: (50 @0) + (21 @1) + (6:37 @2) + (31:48 @3) + (19:35 @4) + (1:01 @5) 23.89 km (23.8 kph) +121m
ahr:149 max:167 slept:6.0 (injured) shoes: Elliptigo

Knee definitely starting to improve (physio on Monday got to work on the ligament), but some way to go yet before being able to run. Braco return. Toiling - realised that I'd had very little to drink all day (5 hours of conference calls). TRIMP 133.33
