FVO Night event, Dunblane. First run for a month, and I was also pretty stiff after three days' sitting in rubbish chairs at a training course, so I started off very steadily. By the time I got through the butterflies the speedies had long disappeared. Then the course developed into a series of legs with decent route choices, which was lots of fun. I kept up a nice relaxed pace, and was happy enough with that. No real mistakes apart from a 10s miss at #17, then I tripped and banged my knee on a rock on the way into #18. It took me a couple of minutes to get going again after that - it was a slow hobble back to the finish. Ice pack time.
Great fun, great turnout, even including a guest appearance by the elusive Ms. Mudge! TRIMP 118.3.
Day 2 of another week long training course in Glasgow, followed by a lovely dinner catching up with a dear friend from Prague, who's on a flying two-day business trip. Sushi and smiles instead of intervals tonight!

Sadly I missed the morning ride with Jase & Pooley, due to a) being in Sainsbury's and b) nursing a sore back, but I managed to get out before dark. The tablets had kicked in, although the LBP was grumbling away in the background. I used the excuse of a different riding position from yesterday as an reason to take out the good bike.
Had a decent spin out to Braco, but toiled into the wind to Greenloaning and died on the hill up onto the Muir. Soggy and cloudy up there. Picked up a little in time for a decent enough effort on the descent. TRIMP 117.9.
So mild that I almost took the shiny bike out, but the roads turned out to be very klarty, so I was glad that I dragged old Bertha out instead. Weird light - lovely sunlight on the hills UNDER the cloud all the way out to Torrie, then I was into the cloud over to Thornhill and it was misty all along the Carse (via back roads), almost pea-soup near the Pru! Back through Cornton and BrOfA, colder than when I left.
HR strap seemed to stop working, not sure why.TRIMP 225ish.
Didn't want to push too hard after donating blood yesterday, so kept it steady on the Vario (cross-training profile). Still very sweaty. Back annoyingly niggly, still. TRIMP 41.4

Intervals on the Synchro - again, pretty easy. TRIMP 25.9
