Sunday Jul 21 #

9 AM

Walking 1:06:48 intensity: (41:37 @0) + (23:30 @1) + (1:41 @2) 6.34 km (10:32 / km) +96m 9:48 / km
ahr:86 max:113 (injured) shoes: Hoka Mafate 4

Struggling with LBP and sciatica today - could barely move to start.

Managed a family walk at Dunning Glen later, courtesy of some Co-Codamol, but the constant nagging pain just wore me down all day. Exhausted by evening.

Running 43:56 intensity: (13 @0) + (11 @1) + (24 @2) + (2:02 @3) + (41:06 @4) 7.53 km (5:50 / km) +183m 5:12 / km
ahr:150 max:159 shoes: Hoka Speedgoat 2

After a long day hunched over the 6-Day WiFi kit, I didn't feel like going out, but pushed myself out the door. I really wish I hadn't. I felt crap before, during, and after running. Although I was plodding along so slowly - particularly through the bog, brash and heather up around the Stane - you could barely even call it a jog. One of those days when you feel you might just be better to give up on the whole thing and go and do something less purgatorial instead.

Gym (Cross trainer) 30:02 intensity: (56 @0) + (27 @1) + (1:07 @2) + (6:36 @3) + (11:47 @4) + (9:09 @5) 1.86 km (16:09 / km)
ahr:155 max:172 (injured)

Still a bit dizzy, so I headed to the gym, just in case I needed to call an abrupt halt to proceedings. Worked pretty hard, but the HR would suggest that I'm carrying some sort of virus.

Gym (Cross-over) 12:03 intensity: (2 @0) + (46 @1) + (59 @2) + (5:25 @3) + (4:51 @4) 8.02 km (1:30 / km)
ahr:147 max:158 (injured)

Easy/steady. This one can aggravate my knee, but it's good for those knackered glutes.

Had meant to get out at lunchtime but have been feeling really rather dizzy all day - started yesterday lunchtime.

Walking 1:20:54 intensity: (1:16:48 @0) + (2:33 @1) + (1:31 @2) + (2 @3) 8.87 km (9:07 / km) +126m 8:31 / km
ahr:101 max:140 shoes: Hoka Speedgoat 2

From the office in Livi. I managed to lose myself in the housing estates - twice! - despite having been working in (and running around) Livi for most of the last two decades. D'oh!

Elliptigo 47:28 intensity: (1:54 @0) + (1:01 @1) + (9:37 @2) + (31:19 @3) + (3:37 @4) 19.84 km (2:24 / km) +166m 2:18 / km
ahr:142 max:158 (injured) shoes: Elliptigo

Suffering with my back today. Felt fine on the Go, though; just wish I'd left myself more time before having to head off to collect the kids. Couple of eejit cars.

Running (Recovery) 29:16 intensity: (5:43 @0) + (52 @1) + (5:39 @2) + (15:21 @3) + (1:41 @4) 5.01 km (5:50 / km) +49m 5:34 / km
ahr:132 max:154 shoes: Nike Air Pegasus 35

Very easy jog from the office. Started off as a walk for the first 500m as my back wasn't happy, then became a shuffle, then gradually morphed into something that might vaguely be identifiable as running.
Quite warm, very sweaty.
