Cycling (Zwift workout) 1:30:18 intensity: (4:18 @1) + (19:48 @2) + (58:26 @3) + (7:46 @4) 38.02 km (25.3 kph) +759m
ahr:130 max:146 (injured) shoes: Genesis Croix de Fer 30 2016

BMU - HWBTWTDWH.
Needed a bit of exercise after my lunchtime lie-down in the MRI scanner (with associated heavy EDM soundtrack). 4 x 15 min Z3 intervals.

Cycling (Road) 1:08:18 intensity: (42 @0) + (1:35 @1) + (4:56 @2) + (26:25 @3) + (31:37 @4) + (3:03 @5) 26.46 km (23.2 kph) +387m
ahr:141 max:163 (injured) shoes: Specialized Globe Vienna Disc

Left it a bit late to get out and the wind was already picking up. 23 minutes to Braco, but very much slower after turning towards Greenloaning. Stiff pull up onto the Muir, but that was as nothing compared to the bottom-gear gale I turned into. Had intended to carry on to Bridge of Allan but I was being blown all over the road, so turned at the Inn. Nice newly resurfaced road all the way down will be fun when I don't have to cycle into the wind most of the way!

Good for my back, not quite so wonderful for my slightly grumpy knee.

ahr:143 max:162 (injured) shoes: Elliptigo

Too nice to stay indoors, and I was keen to confirm that my knee is OK with the Elliptigo. Hmm. Not 100% sure that that's the case - I'll reserve judgment until any after effects might present themselves. Good for my back and my state of mind, anyway!

BMU - 15.9. 5x VO2 reps.
Back on the bike, very happy to report that both my knee and my back were OK with this. The former was still a bit 'off' from using the Vario on Monday and Tuesday - no more of that for a while, it seems - but the latter was AOK. So, more turbo for a while.
More good news. After yesterday's call from the doc with my X-ray results, I got my MRI appointment through today - for Sunday! Great.

Gym (Elliptical) 51:07 intensity: (33 @1) + (21:25 @2) + (27:29 @3) + (1:40 @4) 6.75 km (7:34 / km)
ahr:127 max:146 (injured)

More of the same, good for my back! 30 mins Elliptical and 20 mins Vario. Shame to be indoors on such a lovely day, but short term pain for long term gain etc.

Had a call from my super-efficient and very nice doctor. The X-ray results are in. So, there is some wear and tear in the knee but nothing disastrous. There is, however, a "loose body" floating around in the knee, too, which is probably what's causing my current symptoms. I'll need an MRI scan to see what it is - most likely a bit of snapped off cartilage or something - so I'm on the list for that. Not quite in the Knackers' Yard, yet.

Gym (Cross-trainer) 45:06 intensity: (35 @0) + (2:35 @1) + (27:15 @2) + (14:41 @3) 6.3 km (7:10 / km)
ahr:120 max:137 (injured)

30 mins Elliptical, 5 Cross-over, 10 Vario. Easy effort; only interested in lumbar mobilisation today. Things are definitely going in the right direction; lots of heat and gentle movement has loosened off the muscle spasm and I'm fairly straight again. Glutes still full of knots, but I'll work on those with a tennis ball later. And have another bath.
