TDZ Stage 8: Group Ride (C - Paris). Short one.
Had to try the bike again sometime, but this might have been too soon... wore a back brace (quite the picture with bib shorts) and the initial grumbles only lasted three or four minutes, thereafter OK. Accidentally got enthusiastic towards the end, argh. Fingers crossed no relapse, will gargle some pills and try not to sit down for the rest of the day!

Turfing walk up the hill. For once I was glad that I had to do the dishes, laundry and grocery shopping before going out for my walk - the heavy rain had stopped by then! A day for metal studs and waterproof socks. Hope that that lot doesn't freeze overnight.

Turf and talk.
I set out with great plans to do a clean sweep of the Dark Side (of Dunblane) and visit all of the half dozen zones still new to me, but bumped into Louise at Well Plaza and promptly threw the plans out of the window in favour of a half hour of lovely turf n' blether. Fumbled around the Laighills and back over Holme Hill after that, with two more lengthy stops for chats en route. Happy Brad. Back great too, and not on the mega painkillers any more, hooray!

Well I've not logged anything in the last week but I have done a wee bit of walking around taking turfs. My back has been a wreck all week, and I'm still struggling to sit in a chair even now, a week later, but I've found that gentle walking has helped and so have been going out two or three times a day to get a break from lying prone. As it turns out, it's also a pretty good strategy for turfing; at least that's the case in Dunblane, where it's very possible to take the same turf three - heck, five - times in a day, because it's nigh-on impossible to hang onto the things for more than a couple of hours.
