TDZ Stage 6: Shorter Ride - RGV France.
Time for another easy back test. Verdict? Meh, not quite yet. Finished the tour but it felt like a bit of a cop out, having only completed the A ride at an honest pace in five of the eight stages. Oh well. Got the kit.
Back not great later, as the glutes coalesced into a mass of knots. As per. Out with the tennis ball again.

Had to meet the lawn guy and site manager at VP at 3, then walk home. My back was in serious need of some movement so I took the long route home via the woods and a few turf zones (sadly mostly Janine's - sorry!). V soggy up there, still. Back much better for the exercise - or maybe that's just the out-of-date co-dydramol tablets talking.

or rather, turf and be talked at. My need to move my back coincided with the need to take bored teenager out for some fresh air. Serendipity? Sore-ear-dipity. Dragged him out for a good tour of the trails behind the house. Still slightly deaf.

Some out-of-area turfing in Livingston to take my unique zone count over the 100 mark. I had to go into the office to rescue my frozen PC and collect some paperwork, and my back was not at all happy after 45 miinutes of sitting in the car, so a walk around my usual lunchtime loop - whilst my PC was untangling itself - was definitely in order. With only a few minor route changes this turned into a very acceptable 17-zone turf session. I'll take it.

Of course, after 45 minutes on the way back I had to go for another walk from home, so got a few more turfs then, too! Not that the Dunblane ones will last long. Interested to see how long I hold onto the Livi ones.

Walk, talk and Turf trauma.
Believe it or not I have never managed to hold 30 turf zones at one time, despite getting close several times - like last night, when I had to bail at 29 to let Beccy get out. So when my back called time on the prone typing this afternoon and I was surprised to find that I still had a fair chunk of my zones (18), I headed out on a route that would take me to 34 or so, and still take a con-call at the same time.
All was going well until I got to 27, when I saw MaDVaL approaching the zone I'd just taken, and stoker and pPilot exited their house and headed off in different directions to start eating up my zones from either end. 28... down to 27, agh. 28, 29 - down to 28. Argh! 29... dash to get to 30... just get it and the badge, huzzah! Peak at 30 for, oh, 25 seconds, before I'm back down to 29. By the time I get home I'm down to 26 despite taking another three zones en route.
Now 30 mins later down to 15, and counting, but I've got my badge. Just another day of cut-throat turfing, Dunblane style.

Had to be a bit careful with some of the exercises, but think I got away with it - a post-dinner perambulation later helped ease things off too!
