Bike over to Appin to see if the car managed to find its way back to Gunn's. It wasn't there ... who knows what became of it?! Torrential rain.

Orienteering race 43:04 [4] ***
16c shoes: Icebug Zeal OLX, size 11, new

Scottish 6-days Day 2, middle distance at Inverlochy. M50L 3.9 km at Fort William golf course. Was very tight for time, but could barely run on the ankle to get to the start. Made it by a whisker. Well warmed up was just about able to run. on the course It was rough terrain between the fairways, but I enjoyed it. Wandered a bit in the rough a couple of times but otherwise no major time loss and a decent result Was very slow on the mowed grass bits though where should have been able to stretch out. After finishing, the ankle got very sore again. Sat on the grass and struggled to walk slowly back to meet the kids at the string course. Then going back to the car was in such pain that I had to go barefoot which seemed to settle things a bit and got moving again. Need to sit out Day 5 and figure out what is going on.

Set off to cycle over the Coffin trail to the 6-days. Realised I'd forgotten pins so turned back and ended up having to drive.

Orienteering race 1:13:39 [4] ***

Day 1 of the 6-days and on familiar home terrain (Ardchattan). M50L. Having rested the ankle, was unsure whether it was ready to run on. Actually felt pretty much OK, though running fitness was shocking. Just about managed to drag myself around 7.3 km. It felt slower going than I remember Ardchattan. Lost map contact on one long leg, so lost a couple of minutes. Otherwise reasonably smooth, and loving being out on a beautiful day. Surprised to be in the top half (12/29). After finishing, the ankle got incredibly stiff and painful and couldn't walk for a while.
