| Irish Realy Championships. CNOC/DFO relay team of Séamus O'Boyle (first leg), Colm Hill (second leg) and Donal Burke (third leg) take the title. I myself had a pretty hot run but sadly lost 5mins out on the course, i was running very strongly and caught the Ajax runner (who had a 2min lead) by control number 2. I passed him out put sadly made a mistake at control 9 miscounting the hedges and over shooting, this followed up by a mistake on 10 by hitting the wrong drain and control 11 byu just losing the head. From 11 on th lost the plot and pushed the pace the whole way home. I had nothing to lose anymore. I reached the open and just put my foot to the floor. I could see the Ajax runner punch the last control as i hit the second last. I finished my race by chacing and catching Greg McCann who had a 30m lead on me leaving the last control. The place was going crazy as i tore up the hill After him. I let donal burke out who tore up the forest and brought us home. IRISH CHAMPIONS 2007!!!!! |
