Other Sport (Indoor Soccer) 30:00 [3]

Little run around with my foot all strapped up. Must have done something right as I scored twice in the game, then the winner in the penalty shoot-out. I'll miss next weeks game for work, so hopefully the team gets us into the final for the week after! Foot feeling a bit better in the strapping.

Bike 1:00:00 [3]

Bike to and from work for teaching, stopping at the physio on the way home. Foot strapped, exercises to do, and easing off the running for a week, so will see how that goes... Not a bad week to be told that as I'm working two 15 hour days on the weekend...

Bike 1:05:00 [3]

Bike to/from work. Foot still sore.

Bike 1:44:00 [3]

A few random aches in lower legs and feet, so decided I needed a day off my feet. To Johnsonville, Ohariu Valley, Makara Saddle, and home through the suburbs. Felt quite tired but nice to be out on the bike.

Long Run 2:20:00 [3]

From Holloway Rd in Aro Valley up to the wind turbine then along Car Parts and out to Red Rocks, then along the beach to Owhiro Bay. Beautiful day for it, felt quite good but could definitely feel yesterday's intervals. With Jake and Magnus, good pace over about 18km and quite hilly.

Long Run 26:00 [3]

Warm up/down

Intervals (Hill) 40:00 [3]

4x 6min hill intervals on Mt Kaukau behind Lizzie's place. Dragged Magnus out to do them with me, which was good as I had someone to chase. Lost about 30m each interval despite trying to get to the same spot every time. Had trouble on one of them with hyperventilating and almost having to stop but sorted that out. Hasn't really happened to me before running until the last few weeks, so I'm not sure what thats about. First real hill interval session for a long time, so it felt quite hard!

Orienteering 12:37 [3]

Onslow College Summer Series sprint. Started early as I had to get to soccer so also was turning on all the controls, which was a bit slow. Fun four-loop course.

Other Sport (Indoor Soccer) 30:00 [3]

Close game, which we won. Straight after orienteering, and before night shift.

Long Run 25:00 [3]

Warm up/down - 15 mins warm down as it takes slightly longer to get back from Otari than I remember every time...

Subthreshold 55:00 [3]

From part way to Otari (near the Trelissick Park entrance) through the bottom track in Otari to the cemetery then back along the blue track and up to the flax clearing, then back out and finished the 55mins on the way back outside Mitre 10. Felt really good, especially in the second half of the run, which was great - I don't normally feel like that for this type of run. Maybe it was the new socks.

Long Run 56:00 [3]

Ataturk Memorial to Seatoun and back down the beach (only one nudist today) and around the coast with Elise. Felt a bit slow after night shift and half a sleep because of the strike, but bonus is not working the next two night shifts.

Long Run 36:00 [3]

Piwakawaka track/Trelissick Crs loop after driving back from Wellington, before my pre-nights nap.

Sunday Feb 10, 2019 #

Long Run 1:49:00 [3]

Two laps of Te Mata Peak - starting and Tauroa Rd end, through the redwoods and up the goat track, down the usual way, then up the far red track and down the other side of the road and the short way back to the carpark. Hot compared to Wellington recently, but got more used to it and felt better on teh second lap. Hard dry ground.

Note

In Hawkes Bay with Med School friends - I don't think 2km of biking on a winery tour counts as training!

Friday Feb 8, 2019 #

Note

No run, as I flew to Palmerston North twice for work then drove to Hawkes Bay. The plan was to go for a run between work and leaving but we got delayed by a problem with the helicopter and it all got too late.

Bike 1:00:00 [3]

To/from work for teaching.

Other Sport (Indoor Soccer) 30:00 [3]

We won, I didn't score any goals though.

Orienteering 34:00 [3]

Sprint training in Wainuiomata set by Michael Wood. Three sprint racaes - the high school then the mountain bike park then back to the school. Good little courses but a few locked fences made them very short, then we had to run around and do the bits in the other schools afterwards.

Long Run 25:00 [3]

Warm up/down and running between the sprint races.

Long Run 1:06:00 [3]

Mt Vic and nearly to Mt Albert, after work. Nice to get out and do these tracks again. Came down from Mt Albert next to the zoo.

Bike 1:00:00 [3]

Bike too and from work - about 25 mins too and 35 mins home if you take out the traffic stops.

Sunday Feb 3, 2019 #

Long Run 3:11:00 [3]

River mission with the O Gang. Bulls Run road, about 40mins in to the river, then down the Whakatiki. Lot of bouldering/running/walking/swimming on the way out, excellent weather for it and I thought the water was warm until we go to the Hutt river and it was like a bath. Haven't done a classic Jamie-pplanned mission for a while and it was great - foot seemed to be fine today as well, now the swelling has gone down.

Long Run 30:00 [3]

From home, testing out the foot - seems to be okay now my shoes fit again.
