Long Run 34:00 [3]

From Gurkha Crs over to Khandallah Park and around the bottom tracks - pretty casual run, but legs were quite stiff at the start and still were at the end a bit.

Long Run 58:00 [3]

From Magnus and Lisa's along the motorway and Old Hutt Rd to Kaiwharawhara, then up the gorge and turned left up the side to Tinakori Hill, along the side tracks and back down via St Mary's, and back along the road to Hill St. Lizzie (who had clearly been studying too long), Magnus, Jamie, and Hamish for the run (plus some Korean guy who randomly ran with us in his jeans for 500m), and Todd, Sarah, and Lisa joined us for the potluck afterwards.

Long Run 1:31:00 [3]

From the Brooklyn Windmill with Magnus, Sarah, and Jamie. Along Car parts extension to the road, past the apricot castle and the radar dome, then along the tops to the bunkers on the south coast, scrambled down the creek to Red Rocks, and back along the beach to Owhiro Bay to meet Lisa, who had lollies:) Cool run with awesome views, pretty steep and gravelly in places (as my grazed hand will attest), and a really nice day for it - way windier on the beach at the end than it was on the tops.

Bike 1:37:00 [3]

Out through Ohariu Valley to Makara, up the hill into Karori, and back along the main road. Quite a bit faster than last time I did this ride for some reason - possibly because my butt bones were so sore from not cycling for so long that I rode faster than usual...

Bike 1:12:00 [3]

30mins out into Ohariu Valley (19 from Gurkha Crs to the main intersection by the horse place), then turned around and came back. I always seem to forget how much I like cycling - first ride back since my wrist operation, and my plan for the wrist to harden up and enjoy it as much as the rest of me seemed to work, except on the bumpier bits of road, where it was just as painful as ever... Better than running today though, I think - leg still isn't as good as I'd like it to be, so I think it needed a rest.

Other Sport (Indoor Soccer) 50:00 [3]

Played for my usual team and lost 9-7 (I blame it on Lizzie not being there - my other friend who came to play for us got hit in the face about 4mins in and had to go off for the rest of the half...), then for some other team who needed another girl, and we won, despite the team being nowhere near as good as my usual team - I don't know if they are in a different grade, or if we will play them at some point and crush them. Parking was ridiculously difficult to find, and after driving round for 15mins I had to stalk some poor guy who was carrying his keys, wait for him to leave while blocking traffic, then steal his park and sprint to soccer - luckily the games were running slightly late.

Long Run 1:01:00 [3]

Pretty much the reverse of Monday night, escept from Gurkha Crs, so: over to Khandallah Park, to the top of Clark St, along the flat track then up Mt Kaukau, started going down the ridgeline (the way I usually go up), turned off towards Johnsonville along the new (to me) track. I then turned off the way I though we came up, but it turned out it wasn't - I didn't pass the tunnel thing, and the track ended up dropping down to a creek, before emerging at the edge of the park that the other track comes down to anyway...shortcut with even more steps? Then back through the streets, cut through Onslow, and back along the road to Gurkha Crs. Cool run though, and I felt pretty good as well. Wee bit of a sore shin still though, so I will have to watch that.

Long Run 51:00 [3]

From Lizzie's place along Simla Crs and up Burma Rd to Onslow College and cut through to end up on Truscott Ave and went up Mt Kaukau from there - I've never been that way before. Came back down the usual way and did some of the ,iddle track before going back to Lizzie's. I was a bit slow up the hill, but once I'd dropped a little bit I didn't get any further behind, so I don't know how that works... Right shin a bit sore after the fast bit on the roads at the start. With Lizzie, Sarah, Magnus, Lisa, Hamish, Jamie, Laura, John, and Tim.

Long Run 1:25:00 [3]

With Lizzie from her place, up Mt Kaukau, then along the tops, in the cloud, until we came down towards Crofton Downs and found/made ourselves a track down to where Magnus and Lisa's house is being built. Stopped to check it out for a few minutes, then ran down along the roads and back to Lizzie's. Tired towards the end, but a good run.

Long Run 30:00 [3]

Indoor Soccer - won 13-6ish. Forgot my inhaler so breathing was pretty ragged.

Wednesday Oct 14, 2009 #

Long Run 42:00 [3]

Up Mt Vic from the hospital after class - went up the tracks on the northern side and back via and road (for the first half) then the tracks again.

Tuesday Oct 13, 2009 #

Long Run 39:00 [3]

From Gurkha Crs over to Khandallah Park and along the lower tracks then back. Lots of work to do.

Monday Oct 12, 2009 #

Long Run 1:10:00 [3]

From the top carpark at Otari/Wiltons Bush, fairly similar to last run with Lizzie, but with Sarah, Lizzie, Todd, Magnus, Lisa, Nick, Tim, Laura, John, Jamie, Jamie, and Penny, and slightly longer. Light in the evenings now! Got killed a bit on the uphill because my lungs don't seem to like cold wind much and decided to not play along.

Sunday Oct 11, 2009 #

Long Run 1:09:00 [3]

From Gurkha Crs up Mt Kaukau - beautiful views of the snow-capped Kaikouras on the first nice day since I've been back.

Saturday Oct 10, 2009 #

Long Run 1:02:00 [3]

Run with Lizzie in the rain and cold - struggling a bit with breathing in the cold wind. From the top carpark at wiltons BUsh, down and up to the skyline, then along a really muddy cow-bogged track for a bit before ducking back down out of the wind. Not as cold as we expected, and nice to get out, even if it was during a southerly...

Other Sport (Indoor Soccer) 25:00 [3]

We won 20-6, Lizzie scored heaps of goals, I scored an awesome one, and Mum came to watch!

Orienteering 55:02 [3]

Aus Relay Champs, 4.7km, Mt Killawarra. Rita ran first, then Amber, but I had to "mass" start by myself so that I'd finish in time for us to drive to the airport, which was a bit offputting. Screwed bup 3 by stopping short, then generally had a slightly messy run, and screwed up 9 by stopping short again - I think I was thrown by the change of scale to 1:10000, although I thought that would have made me overrun things...

Saturday Oct 3, 2009 #

Orienteering 1:44:34 [3]

Aus Long Champs, 8.5km, Northern Spurs. I haven't made so many mistake for a while. Got thrown on the way to 1 when I popped out at a track (on my bearing) and thought I'd drifted to another track. went downhill from there, apart from 3-8 which was good, and the end, which was better, but by then I was tired and slow...

Friday Oct 2, 2009 #

Orienteering 17:21 [3]

Aus Sprint Champs, 3.1km, Benalla Islands. The least technical sprint I've done in a while, and it showed in the results, there was only one route choice leg, and once you had chosen you didn't have to think about anything else on the way.

Orienteering 30:00 [3]

Model for the Long at Warby Range State Park (the corner of the Long/relay map). Mostly with Rita, checking out control sites and other features - bare rock a useful navigational tool, compass important.
