Orienteering race 1:31:00 [5] 7.6 km (11:58 / km)
Canterbury Long Champs. Definitely not one of my better runs - local knowledge would have helped, but thats really no excuse. The many small mistakes probably reflected a lack of orienteering races in the recent past, and number 6 was particularly shocking, being in the right general area, but missing the control by mistaking an unmarked track for a useful marked one (Lara passed me, and she started 9 mins behind, and I somehow missed Georgia passing me again). Quite a good course, with butterfly loops, although for three people in my grade, perhaps a bit unnecessary to make us go in different orders!
Feet are suffering quite a bit from not being able to wear orthotics in my O shoes - I've now got swollen big toes, which are rather painful to walk on. Legs are full of thorns, and I've just noticed a huge swollen bruise on my shin - I'm sure the Physio will be intrigued on Tuesday...
