I got my new bike and couldn't resist - its a SUBzero.1 - so much nicer to ride than every other bike I've ever riden. I have to take it back in on Saturday to get the clipless pedals put on though, because my shoes hadn't arrived yet. Went from the bike shop, over the city bridge, up Duncan St and out to Okioa, then up and back into Wanganui through Durie Hill, before going up the river and across the railway bridge, then home. The ride was 2 hours in total, average HR 127, but was really 70 mins, then a 35 min breakwhen I came across some friends from school on the railway bridge who I hadn't seen for ages, then 15 mins home. The riding sections each had an average HR of ~142 and the first one had a max HR of 166.

6 x 600m at 148 seconds with 400m jogging recoveries. I was quite shattered after the last one after finding the first relatively easy, and all my various niggles were becoming apparent. Distance was 200m added to the 400m route, so is still not exact, and if anything, the recoveries were a bit short.

Montgomery Rd, Otamatea Reserve, 3x Lake, Parkes Ave, Peakes Rd. It was hot and I felt slow for at least the first 45 mins. Looked at road bikes today - yay:)

Round the railway and the motorway bridges, after tea because I ran out of time. I forgot to stop my watch when I got home because the neighbour's dog had escaped and I had to catch it (one of those handbag dogs, but completely insane), so the ride was a few minutes shorter than this - luckily the catching was quite quick this time.
