Orienteering race 1:09:00 [5]

McLeods Farm - ran as a "wayfarer" after the Otago Schools Champs. Hoped to get an idea of the standard of the schoolkids for my planning of the SI Schools Champs in two weeks, but there seemed to be some unfortunately long times on the open farmland. I proved once again that I am not a particularly fast runner.

Bike 1:12:00 [3]
ahr:159 max:187

Awesome ride on my old route from last year. Reached max speeds of 51km/h on the Taieri Rd downhill, then later on got to 66km/h and then again to 55km/h. I have no idea if this is actually fast in the cycling world or not, but breaking the speed limit on a bike is good enough for me. Round the back of the reservoir was really nice, but I was a bit hesitant going up Islay St with a road bike (its gravel...). My HR got to 187 on steepest Wakari Rd uphill, and I did it faster than on my old bike, which was what I expected.

Other Sport (hockey) 1:00:00 [3]

First proper game of the season, won 1-0. Lots of sprinting up and down the field trying to play both a wing and do one of our new defenders job - somehow she was always in just the wrong place...

Bike hills 1:00:00 [3]
ahr:159 max:178

Bike up North Rd until I could see Port Chalmers - really nice hot day, with a few specks of rain on the way back. Felt really good. 42 mins to top, 18 back down.

Orienteering race 40:32 [5]

NZ Champs Relay. First loop was great - caught Sara and passed the guy who started just ahead of me; second loop not so great - got confused by the fences and ended up almost at 11 on the way to 9 in the native bush (as I was correct I saw four people who had caught me leaving 9 - how depressing); last loop was not as bad, but I was definitly tiring. Best Red Kiwis result in a while though - 10th.

Long Run 5:00 [3]

Warm up.
