Other Sport (Tramping) 12:00:00 [3]

From the end of Long Valley Rd staight up a steep hill for a kilometre, then up Mt Riley and Mt Sunday. Had to rescue the group from making a pretty big navigational error and we ended up camping on the side of a massive spur (albiet on a flatish bit of ground). Tried to stay towards the back, as being at the front the fastest few of us speed off and end up waiting all the time.

Other Sport (Tramping) 1:00:00 [3]

Out from my solo spot when we finally got picked up about 2pm. Never been more bored in my life! But glad I got to catch up on sleep.

Note
(rest day)

Slept again, and did a tiny bit of skipping. Very frustrating not being allowed to leave my 20m circle. Could hear people cough and a lot of stick breaking going on further up the track.

Note
(rest day)

Slept most of the day after getting dropped off at my solo spot at 12.30 last night. Got so bored at the end of the day that I wove myself a skipping rope.

Other Sport (PT) 15:00 [3]

Our own version at Onamalutu Scenic Reserve, including "reverse starjumps".

Long Run 40:00 [3]

In the rain around all the little loop tracks around the reserve, and back around them, and around them again. I can't believe how slow some people run - we were going at a slowish jog and had to keep doubling back for the others.

Long Run 30:00 [3]

Shuttle run around a Point where previous Outward Bounder's have done community service building a track. Racing Dion again, which was a bit of a killer up the hill at the end, which we ended up doing four times. Another jump off the jetty when we got back to Anakiwa.

Other Sport (Tramping) 1:00:00 [3]

Up the massive hill out the back of Anakiwa to our solo spots.

Other Sport (PT) 20:00 [3]
(sick)

Community service day, and I had a pretty relaxing job, so not much other activity.

Time Trial 13:45 [3] 3.2 km (4:18 / km)
(sick)

7.02 to halfway - I think I was getting tired, and the cold was finally catching up.

Other Sport (Roming) 30:00 [3]

From Te Kainga Bay around to the next bay where we could run up to the Queen Charlotte track near Portage. The first part of our "adventure race" - winds were too strong to do much sailing in the morning.

Long Run 2:00:00 [3]

Along the Queen Charlotte Track from Portage to Mistletoe Bay. Mostly ran with Dion and Danny, which kept me at a pretty good pace. Made it down to Mistletoe bay, despite a missing sign, and found that there were public toilets and running water!! We got there in 1.15, but had to shutlle back up to the others, and discovered that Claire had missed a turnoff, so we raced off on a rescue mission to find her (luckily she hadn't gone too far).

Swimming 10:00 [3]

Across freezing cold Mistletoe Bay to the cutter (which had been towed round there by the launch), wearing lifejackets.

Other Sport (Sailing) 4:00:00 [3]

This has to count, even though the time seems ridiculously long - I was captaining the boat, which meant controlling the tiller, which was pretty difficult in the strong winds - I pretty much had to use my whole body weight to move it sometimes.

Swimming 5:00 [3]

More freezing cold water, this time from the cutter at its mooring back to the Anakiwa jetty, wearing a lifejacket again.
