Orienteering 18:00 [3]

Nationals Sprint - Woodford-Iona. Started off well, but made average route choices to 3 and 4 - still surprised to have Lizzie catch me at 6, but it turned out she had rockets on her feet or something... Came the wrong way out of 8 and went way to far left, 10 and 11 okay, then screwed up getting out of 11 and then didn't see the little track and went all the way round the road to 12. No mistakes on the rest, just slow.

Long Run 20:00 [3]

Warm up so the start and down again afterwards.

Bike 35:00 [3]

Bike out to the end of the road and back (no more erosion since last time) and then to the other end of the road and back. Pretty strong headwind on the way out but good to keep the legs ticking over.

Long Run 1:03:00 [3] 10.0 km (6:18 / km)

Hill session with the Tuesday night group - from the print shop in Napier around to the eastern side of the hill and up and around the hill in loops going up and down various streets that I can't remember/possibly wouldn't recognise in the dark. Missed one down/up because I didn't want to push it too hard this week.

Note
(rest day)

Seemed like a good idea, plus the weather was horrible, and I froze walking from the hospital to the car.

Orienteering 50:11 [3]

Rotoma club event. Took all six of my flatmates, so spent quite a bit of time coaching them (they all finished their courses and enjoyed it, and have spent the afternoon comparing battle scars and almost getting lost stories, so hopefully they come again!). I was a bit tired after yesterday, which doesn't bode particulary well for the weekend, but as Rita pointed out, it would be a bit hard to be any fitter after the summer I had, so I suppose thats alright. Made a couple of little mistakes and struggled up the hills, especially on the way to 7 after Hamish passed me.

Time Trial 20:34 [3] 4.0 km (5:09 / km)

Mission Estate harriers race - 2x2km laps. Cool little forest bit and a gate crossing and mud, so pretty good for a running race! Apparently I won the senior women's grade (prize = omelette maker), but I'm fairly certain that that was a lack of competition rather than any talent on my part...

Note

Was extremely slack and didn't do any stretching or much of a warm up/down.
