Long Run 1:09:00 [3]

With Rita at Eskdale. Realised once we got there that this was where I got my stress fracture! Or at least where I first felt it... Cool run out in the hills and back along the flat - heaps of slips and mud everywhere, so my shoes finally got properly christened. Knee achey in the last 15 minutes, after a big downhill, so not too bad, and not sore later in the day.

Bike 1:02:00 [3]

Bike out along Tukituki road for 30mins and back. Lots of slips onto the road. Felt a bit average to begin with but better on the way back and did a loop around Haumoana to make it up to an hour/check out how the flooding has gone down.

Testing out the knee - down to Te Awanga to check out the surf (nice break rolling in now that the sea is organised after the storm) and back. Knee okay until about 22mins, then pain started on the lateral part of my patella...

Stretching while watching the waves, then back at home as well.

Thought one more day resting the knee wouldn't hurt, as it was still sore today. Chopped wood with my new axe instead, since it has finally stopped raining.

Orienteering 50:52 [3]

Nationals Relay - Maraetotara. Ran first leg, as I am now Red Kiwis only elite... I knew it was going to be painful before I started, but knee was really sore the whole way. Tried to keep up with Sarah after the loops, but when we had a different split at 21 I couldn't any more. Ouch.
