Not my best decision of the year... OY at Tangoio - possibly Hawkes Bay's steepest, most slippery map. Fell over onto my arm three times in about the first 5 mins and had to take it really slowly and carefully (so essentially walked the whole thing) after that. Also didn't choose the best route on the long leg so probably lost an extra 5 mins there, which was silly. Two other smaller mistakes, but otherwise okay navigationally.

Was supposed to do 2 hours but didn't get o the gym early enough and it closed on me when I was at 1 hour 42. Spent the first hour catching up on all I missed of the tour de france via a magazine, then went through my sprint and middle maps from nationals in the South Island - looked for Aussie ones but I don't seem to have any in Hawkes Bay. Kept the cadence at 90, power 5. Would put in the kayaking I did in the afternoon, but I didn't actually do any paddling so I figure it doesn't count...

Was supposed to get the cast off today, but that has been delayed until Wednesday as apparently someone specific needs to look at the new xray when I get it done to make sure that everything is fine. Very frustrating.

At the gym again - first half of the sub-threshold. Pretty sure I got closer to it than yesterday, kept cadence mostly 95-100. So boring though, and had to listen to the gym's techno music the whole time...

Jog to Te Awanga surf beach and back in the darkness with Simon. Not too bad a run - no shoulder pain or tiredness, perfect temperature for not inducing cast-sweat...

The beginnings of my epic gym session. Cadence 90-100, at level 4 resistance. Annoying seat that I kept sliding forwards off, but there was music and soccer to watch so I wasn't too upset.

This was actually a 10 on one machine, which started squeaking, then 20 on another one. Stride length on these things is way too short...

Warm down on the bike again. Felt quite good towards the end of this session, and am actually looking forward to going back. Don't know if this was because the 30bike/30 cross trainer was actually too easy (was supposed to be subthreshold, don't know if I really got there because I couldn't seem to get my heart rate over 150), or if it was just that I haven't done anything even vaguely this long for a while.

Run from Haumoana along the track to the start of the domain in Te Awanga and back. Shoulders both a bit sore by the end - the right one from 4 hours of one handed driving yesterday... First day of my last three months of med school - the end is near:)
