Orienteering 33:55 [3]

I think this was supposed to be a sprint, but it was way too long for that. Around Karori cemetery, which was actually quite cool. Made far too many mistakes, probably due to being quite tired (friend's hens night last night).

Orienteering 1:33:22 [3]

Same story as this morning, except even more tired. Legs felt like lead when I started. Fairly sure that this was supposed to be a middle, but again way too long in the steep and muddy terrain. Ended up taking track options whenever possible, which seemed to be the best method anyway.

Note

Driving to Wellington, via Palmy. Met John Key, which was terribly exciting.

Strengthening (Mike's) 45:00 [3]

Went through the whole regime for the first time today (very slack I know), including planks (Lizzie is right - they are death on a stick) - totals of 2mins each side and normal, and 5-10 on each of the others. Hard work!

Bike 58:00 [3]

Not ideal, but did half of tomorrow's training today, as I'm fairly sure it won't happen tomorrow. Tukituki Rd to just past the homestead and back. Kind of rainy weather and took me until nearly five thirty to even get out the door - going to bed after midnight then getting woken up by your flatmate baking at 6am is not really conducive to feelings of wakefulness... Good once I got out there though. Huge surf again, nicely timed for the Haumoana public meeting on foreshore erosion tomorrow.

Long Run 53:00 [3]

From Tauroa Rd end, through the big redwoods, up through the bush and the track past the karakas, then the track kind of disappeared, but I kept going up the valley until I got onto the mountainbike track, went up that to the top (32mins), then down the same way as with Rita the other day. Rainy and cold, but felt so good.

Other Sport (Tennis) 1:00:00 [3]

First game in about 6 years, played doubles and lost 6-2, 6-3. Despite the score, apparently some of those tennis skills have stuck, so might have to play a bit more...

Other Sport (Indoor netball) 40:00 [3]

Played centre the whole game, about an hour after finishing the 5k... We got slammed, and I somehow also got a blood nose. Fun game though.

Time Trial (5km) 23:17 [3]

Decided after such a slack week last week to give my first 5km of the summer a go. Waterfront in Napier, had a strong headwind at various points. I think I slowed down a lot in the second half - Annie and Holly were only about 150m ahead at halfway and ended up about 2mins30s ahead. Legs felt like jelly by the end.

Long Run 5:00 [3]

Warm up. No real warm down -- Martin, Steve and Nick had already finished and had chips. It was too tempting.

Bike 1:00:00 [3]

Longer bike out along Tukituki Rd and back. Got just down the hill past the homestead, to where a boy had just rolled his car three times! Luckily he was okay and I didn't really have to do anything.
