Orienteering 50:52 [3]

Middle distance at Maerewhenua. Many small errors, but then lost it on 7 not checking my exit direction, and then losing more time on 8 by losing it between my attack point and the control, and climbing across a ditch with cliffs on either side completely unnecessarily and having to turn around and do it again. Coming into the pen spectator area totally misjudged where I'd come into the scrub and took a while to figure that out and get through it to where I was supposed to be, losing yet more time... Then fairly okay after that, but not enough to make up for the earlier time loss... Not my best race.

Orienteering 2:06:29 [3]

Long distance at Kuriheka. Main time loss was on 2 and 5, coming up onto a vague saddle and coming down off a vague spur, respectively. Cool course, but pretty long and didn't quite manage to keep it under the two hour mark this year. Pretty happy with my route choices and execution of the long legs, reasonably happy with 5th.

Sprint in Oamaru. Once again, just not fast enough for the running speed required for this map/course... Kind of fun through the gardens dodging a children's Easter thing, then through some buildings, really only one navigational mistake.

Warm up/down. Didn't feel great after the late night arrival/early morning in Christchurch, and the 3.5 hour drive down...

Long Run 15:40 [3]

On Fitzroy Island, post-wedding. 8x20s sprints with 10s recoveries plus warm up/down. Not a big enough island to do much else without climbing to the top behind the resort. Hot.
