Road Run long 2:04:39 [2] 16.74 mi (7:27 / mi)
shoes: Asics (02/07)

Put the Saturday long run off until today. We did a different route out past the end of Park Ave to the Wachusett Reservoir and back past the Holden Reservoirs. The climb turned out to be much more than expected and we ended up going overtime almost 15 minutes. The last couple miles seemed tougher than usual and my legs felt ready to give out by the end. Felt good through most of the run though.

Full 22.2 mile route including the tempo part is here.

Funny thing is that I was in such a rush this morning getting out of bed that I put on a different shoe on each foot. I reached for my newer pair and then just grabbed the one next to it for the other foot and didn't realize they didn't match until I got out there. I could definitely feel a slightly greater fatigue in the muscles and knee of my left leg which was wearing the older shoe, so it was an interesting experiment.

Road Run 37:30 [4] 5.44 mi (6:54 / mi)
shoes: Asics (12/06)

Tempo part of the long run. Felt quite strong and wanted to push the pace, but we kept hitting these gigantic hills that I wasn't expecting and each time T-Mac would pull away. I managed to catch him after every hill though and finally passed him up at the very end. It's exciting to be able to keep up with him every now and then.

Road Run warm up/down 16:15 [1] 2.1 mi (7:44 / mi)
slept:7.0 shoes: Asics (12/06)

Warm-up jog out to Mill and June. Overslept and didn't have time to wake up or eat anything before heading out so I felt really groggy out there.

Road Run 30:00 [4] 4.34 mi (6:55 / mi)
shoes: Asics (12/06)

Felt really crappy overall, but strong nonetheless and was able to reach a new mark again. T-Mac was feeling crappy today so I got to run with him for most of it and that helped to push me harder. It's good to see a steady improvement week-by-week on this run even though I usually feel junky running in the morning like this.

Road Run 25:34 [1] 3.6 mi (7:06 / mi)
shoes: Asics (12/06)

Easy jog back to campus. Finally stopped to go to the bathroom and felt much better after that. Man I hate mornings when you aren't getting enough sleep overall.

Road Run long 1:48:52 [1] 14.44 mi (7:32 / mi)
shoes: Asics (02/07)

Salisbury-Mower-Cemetary loop backwards with T-Mac. Felt good today, but definitely tired at the end.
