Off to WCOC Score-O.

Orienteering 57:19 [4] ***** 9.0 km (6:22 / km) +300m 5:28 / km
shoes: Integrators 2007

Fun score-o at Trout Brook Valley with a mini sprint stuck in the middle. I felt really good today, but was still surprised to leave everyone behind right out of the start. Everything just fell into place and my legs felt great. It was really nice to be back in my home terrain. I really noticed how much better my confidence was here. I wonder if that is something psychological that I can work on or if I just need more experience in any foreign terrain before competing on it...

Felt great the whole way, but after I sat down for a minute at the end I felt completely drained and exhausted again, and so I didn't go out on a cool-down like I had planned. I'm really getting sick of this jetlag crap. I have to figure out how I can over it more quickly in the future.

Road Run 40:53 [3] 6.0 mi (6:49 / mi)
shoes: Asics (02/07)

Felt completely drained and ready for bed when I got home but decided that I have to just work through this until my body adjusts back to EST. So I decided to go for an evening jog to see if I couldn't force some energy back into my body for just a bit.

My body groaned for the first mile or so but then gave in and everything felt great again. I had trouble holding myself back because my legs just kept wanting to go faster like Ricky Bobby.

weight:66.2kg

I stepped on the scale after my run just out of curiousity and came in a whole 1.2Kg lighter than this morning, and even after three glasses of water and some food I still hadn't gained any back. I wonder if my scale doesn't round between those two values and I'm really just stuck somewhere in between...

Oh well, at least I still have a positive G.

No running today and no excuse except that I just didn't have the energy to get off the couch. Can I really still be jetlagged so bad or do I just need a bigger kick in the butt?

Jog down to the Dolan.

Road Run 1:17:28 [3] 11.0 mi (7:03 / mi)
shoes: Asics (02/07)

Coach drove us out to the Rail Trail today to get out of the city and T-Mac, Caleb and I decided to just run back from there. I felt really sore starting out, but much better as we went along. Somehow the route has a net climb of zero. We all thought the downhills outweighed the uphills, but I guess we just didn't notice the uphills as much. I guess that's a good sign. Felt quite tired by the end.

Nice brisk run on the old Cemetary-Airport loop. Legs felt good, though everything was stiff from too much airplane time yesterday.
