Orienteering race 1:09:35 [5]
Race at Tankersley Woods M21L. The area was really good and the weather was great too. I didn't wake up with my legs hurting today so the rest day definately helped. I ran well for the first quater of the course and then i felt really leggy and didn't have much to give physically. Technically i was good, if anything i was too hesitant but you needed to check direction and how far you had run so it was difficult as always to get the balance. Wanted to get through the course without a big mistake (over 1 minute) but i rushed the last (30th) control and lost a minute, bugger.
Easy Run 35:00 [2]
Warm up/down

Saturday Jan 26

Note
(rest day)
My legs are still nackered, can't really tell why probably just the amount of training in four days - especially Tuesday. Maybe i'm becomming immune to the effects of rego, think i will increase the dosage.

Friday Jan 25

Easy Run 15:00 [2]
Gym and back
Gym Session 1:00:00 [2]
Legs felt tired today just walking around but felt an easy session would do them good. Did the usual session without ball work. 20 minute spin while watching Ivory Coast vs Benin. It was 4-0 when i started watching and just as i finished on the bike Benin scored their second ever goal in the African Cup of Nations (that's an average of one per tournament). Joke.

Football 25:00 [1]
Once upon a time at JEC 2007 in France there was much banter, between the English contingent of the British team and the French team, because of a certain rugby match that was taking place that night. Various things were being written on posters and a French guy asked me for a pen, i mocked him a little and didn't give him the pen to write anti-english slogans. So he stuck his index finger up at me, not once but three times, yes i know an index finger. I was scared. England trounced France in the rugby later that evening and the next day the same French guy came over and pretended he was not bothered saying that France would not be beaten by England at Football (which i didn't disagree with but didn't agree with), and challenged us to a game of football. Unfortunately we had to catch a flight so the meeting was postponed to when we next meet. For this reason i realised that it was the perfect opportunity to put in some training for this meeting when Andy gave me a text saying his intramural team was short of players. I got Dave involved and so it began.

Dave and I being unkown quantities did not start the match but soon came on when some very unfit members of our team were huffing and puffing after 5 mins of standing around. Dave and I came on and changed the game. I like to describe my play as the defensive willingness of Vidic, with the range of passing of Pirlo, the tenacity of Keane, the skills of Ronaldo and the finishing of Titus Bramble. The first half came to an end just after Dave had slotted the ball past the keeper with a left foot finish that Thierry Henry would have been proud of. 6-0 at the break. At half time i saw a large crowd of girls had gathered to admire the talent on offer, probably the same girls that chase Douglas around Edinburgh because of the low insurance costs he offers. The second half was much of the same apart from the other team started acting like Chelsea (sulking, throwing the ball away etc). We took the foot of the gas and the game ended 9-1.

Andy tried to sign us up permanently after the game because of the transformation in results that Dave and I had caused but we could not commit to any long term deal.

So all in all. Index Finger Boy - you should be scared!
