| Orienteering race 40:20 [5] *** 5 km (8:04 / km) | ||
| 15c shoes: Integrators | ||
| FVO club champs Saugie Craigs.
Was a bit disappointed it was only 5k. Which is probably the first time I've ever said that..... Was doing fine but lacking confidence so was very hesitant and was caught by SteveNic by no5 (2mins). Was able to keep up with him fairly comfortably but he was loads smoother at navigating than me. Decided the only way I could get back in front would be by picking a superior route so went round rather than over to 12. It was not a superior route. So he got away from me... 3 mins down overall. Guess I maybe got a tow of about 2 mins. Felt pretty strong. Not sure what everyone else was doing....

| A truely minging night so the FVO night race was moved from Dumyat to the shelter of Hermitage/Uni. Praise the Lord (or Trevor at least)!
Last outing as proper Petzel hardcore nighto adventurer as have ordered a proper headlight. On the jog up to the start I couldn't even tell if my torch was on! Viz not helped by wearing specs in torrential downpour.... The chaps sprinted off at the start which I am just not willing to do but I cruised up behind them and was in the lead by the top of the hill. Although I knew it wouldn't last owing to the fact I couldn't really see where I was going - I was using Fraser's torch and he was 10m behind me! As usual turned into a big girl on the steep downhill so Brad flew past and left me for dead. Then worked really hard on the long leg thru the campus and caught the boys up by number 6. Chose the most logical route to 8 but unfortunately hadn't factored in the building site in the way so lost loads of time crawling thru a grotty wee bit of forest. Fairly steady round the rest. Good fun once you're out there....

| (rest day) | ||
| Had boring meeting (is there any other kind?) so couldn't make intervals. Should probably have done them on my own but fancied a wee rest after weekend's exertions. | ||
