Pilates 35:00 [2]

Was feeling really tired all day, but perked up nicely throughout the session.

Circuits 25:00 [3]
weight:69.4kg shoes: Adidas AdiZero Tempo

Nice and short.

Running 33:19 [3] 6.3 km (5:17 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel 1130

Bit brisker than the usual Monday night golfing, that's for sure. Jon, Roger and I made it down the Darn Path and up the Glen Road in the time, feeling surprisingly fine.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [3]
shoes: Olway Tigers

wu to the start with Fraser in the freezing rain

Orienteering race 1:22:09 [4] *** 9.4 km (8:44 / km) +365m 7:19 / km
27c shoes: Olway Tigers

Again, good hard racing, running as hard as I could the whole way round. Really enjoyed the first loop, though missed 4 due to hideous compass work. Then loads of little mistakes in Sauchie - not able to get enough information from the map.

Another great course though - excellent weekend's racing.

Orienteering 30:00 [3] ***

Collecting controls. Very tired by this stage.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel 1130

To/from start, trotting around.

Orienteering race 42:50 [4] *** 7.1 km (6:02 / km) +120m 5:34 / km
27c shoes: Asics Gel 1130

Had been looking forward to this race - reasonable fitness and local knowledge.

Ran hard with no major errors, but quite a lot of hesitation and micro mistakes. Also got distracted twice - once (at 2) by my sister asking if she had to do them all in order, then by Terry (at 16) shouting on me. Apart from that, good concentration throughout. Had no idea what to do on the long leg so just ran in the general direction and waited to see where I came out: helped that I knew there weren't really too many dead ends.

Orienteering is still quite rusty, am looking forward to getting my new contact lenses as am beginning to wonder if vision is a factor. Excellent fun and a lovely day for it.

Running 1:10:00 [3] 10.0 km (7:00 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel 1130

Cheat's run, with Fi from the top car park up Dumyat and then down the ridge. It was a beautiful evening and lovely to be out on the hill on our own. Then we turned back down the ridge and so did the weather. Still great to be out though. Then, keen to get my March average to an hour a day I ran back home as well. Played lamppost sprints from halfway along Causewayhead Road.

Note

Pleased with March. Probably the best month's training I've had since September 09. And it wasn't that good a month....

Note

All day at Digital 2011. Caught a bit of the Kylie concert since she was in the next hall.

Running intervals 45:00 [5] 10.0 km (4:30 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel 1130

Sole FVO representative at a rather epic Ochils session: 7 minutes tempo, 6x3mins (75 off), 6 minute relay. Was fairly comfortably ahead of Bob and Dave Eiser, but they had done the Birnam race. Right calf tightened a little and I nearly gave up on 4, but manned up and felt a bit better on 5 and 6.

Lovely to be running at the Airthrey pitches again. Stunning spot.

Running warm up/down 30:00 [3] 5.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel 1130

wu jogging round looking for the Ochillers.
wd getting dropped, although not as much as previous weeks, calves really tightening.
