Orienteering race 1:36:08 [3] *** 9.65 km (9:58 / km) +465m 8:02 / km
29c shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212

A complete contrast to yesterday, the weather here was horrific and this was purely a matter of survival. Although, to be honest, once out there conditions weren't too bad....

Nevertheless, I'm not really in a place to kill myself round an area like this; instead I went at a nice comfortable pace. Nav was fairly competent apart from at 6, a massive uphill leg, where I failed to pay attention, got slightly off line, very confused and looped around randomly before finally pulling myself together. Tullster cruised past on the way to 8, showing how to run through this terrain.

Really glad the event went ahead - proper adventure!

Orienteering race 29:41 [4] *** 3.5 km (8:29 / km)
11c shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212

Tartan Course at the 11 Manna, at Ganavan. Not exactly a test for FVO seeing as how we were the only Scottish club capable of getting 11 runners.... Nevertheless still a responsibility to not mispunch after 10 others' running. Managed this and had a pretty solid run, only difficulty being when I ran right past 5, not spotting the tucked-away flag. A long way down on Murray, but I was checking codes very carefully.

Running intervals 24:00 [5]
shoes: Adidas AdiZero Tempo

6x3 with Jon, back and forth beside the uni loch, from our usual starting point. When I say usual, I mean usual from back in the day when we usually did intervals on a Tuesday.

Lovely night for it and felt ok, though left hamstring tightened and then left achilles was sore after. Have done some training, should do more stretching shocker. Lots of other runners about, the ladies were loudest.

Running warm up/down 50:00 [3]
shoes: Adidas AdiZero Tempo

wu with the ladies to start, then back to meet Jon and round the loch with him, then some strides.
