Pilates 30:00 [1]
weight:67.4kg

Very tight and quite weary after yesterday's race, so a good session.

Circuits 30:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks T7 Competition

45 and then 20 seconds. 45 is a very long time, especially when you're knackered...

Orienteering race 55:09 [5] *** 10.0 km (5:31 / km)
30c shoes: Adidas AdiZero Tempo

London City Race, Isle of Dogs, Canary Wharf

Have always fancied getting down for this, finally made it this year. Really enjoyed the course, a tits out runners' course, but still with plenty to think about, most legs requiring considered execution. No major issues, mainly making safe decisions wherever there was doubt. Quite a few small indecisions/misses though, especially a bad wee block of 10, 11, 12, 13. Compensated for this by chasing Harold Wyber from 25-30, he was certainly shifting, couldn't catch him. Although I was trying here, surprised to see it so obviously in the splits; hadn't realised I had sped up, thought I had been trying the rest of the time...

A respectable 10th, especially considering last night's beer and champagne and wine and cocktails...

Running warm up/down 15:00 [2]
shoes: Adidas AdiZero Tempo

wu rushing from hotel to assembly to station
wd very slow with Fi, until we stopped at Mudchute Farm to admire the pigs. Huge! Knackered after, felt much more like post-running race than post-orienteering. Dehydrated, can't imagine why, managed to avoid migrane thankfully.

Great weekend!

Running 40:00 [3]
shoes: Adidas AdiZero Tempo

Comprehensive warming up and fairly comprehensive warming down.

Orienteering race 5:12 [4]
shoes: Adidas AdiZero Tempo

LOK Ultrasprint, Victoria Park. Prologue Course A. Not quite into the swing of things, probably not attacking hard enough, but also dithered badly near the end as I lost focus.

Orienteering race 4:30 [4]
shoes: Adidas AdiZero Tempo

Course C. Much more like it, into the running, into the flag finding, a few more opportunities to open up.

Orienteering race 4:42 [4]
shoes: Adidas AdiZero Tempo

Course B. Didn't think I had much chance of making the final after my 17th on course A but put the boot in anyway. Got second on this course and went into 3rd overall when I finished. But then someone mentioned Barrable was still out there... and then we found some ridiculously fast foreign geezer was also going for a cunning late start. Gutted, 5th by 2 seconds, top 4 to qualify....

Orienteering race 6:44 [4]
shoes: Adidas AdiZero Tempo

Having missed out on the proper final, we decided to construct our own: me, Fi, Jase and Andy Munro. The extra complication of head-to-head racing proved too much for us all and between us we got six wrong controls, two of them mine. Still won the race though:)

Thankfully this race didn't count for the UKOL, in fact not really sure of the point of it.

Great fun format, really entertaining.

Running 39:23 [3]

Nice little lunchtime trot from the Alba Centre. Quickly out into the country on a lollipop shaped route. Very civilized.

Running 1:12:46 [3] 12.48 km (5:50 / km) +350m 5:07 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212

Very enjoyable soup run from Jon and MC's.

Up the hill and along to the quarry, back down and then out round Leckie then Watson House, back along Ladies' Walk. Start was tough on the calves, but apart from that pace was easy, mainly because Fi was feeling a little queasy.

Whacking some golf balls at Brucefields.
