Running race 30:00 [5]

eoc middle distance quali. quite a few smallish mistakes and one bigger, where i actually STOPPED reading the map going into a green area, hm, i wonder what i was thinking. lost maybe 2mins at my big mistake and did an additional four 20 secs mistakes at other parts of the course.

was really nervous i wouldnt make it to the final today after such a race, but it did, and in the end i got the 13th place in my heat. one really has to give orienteering enough time in this type of terrain as it is technically very demanding. tomorrow is final and 0-0 is the result!

Running 1:00:00 [1]

20min warming up and a pretty long jog after, since i didnt have the nerves to follow the competition =)

Running 30:00 [5]

middle distance training in form of orienteering intervals at the model map, with new control points. good and focused orienteering, giving it enough time. and the legs felt as good as they have done the last days!

Running 13:00 [5]

EOC sprint quali. Really bad race. To the first control I met a dog, which I had to bark back at. Lost some concentration and time there of maybe 10 secs max. Kept on going, until I on my way to the 4th control took a flight, trying to run through a hole in a fence with a metal threshold and reading the map at the same time. landed in glass and dog poo and crashed my compass. continued however after some stumbling moments and was on the 5th spot at the 8th or 9th control. however at the 11th control i did a 45 sec mistake, really clumsy. a big circus tent was not mapped though, which was on the way. ran well to finish, but lost 1 sec too much for qualifying to final.

Running 13:00 [5]

EOC sprint B-final. very good race! focused on giving myself enough time for orienteering, which showed out to be a good recipe. was around half a minute faster than m. bjugan and d. renard.i will take the tactic with me, and try to use it the rest of the races this season.
