Running 36:00 [2] 6.9 km (5:13 / km)

Didn't wake up until 5pm but I had spotted a lighthouse near our hotel and I couldn't resist the opportunity to add another one to the collection so headed over for a run. Ran a couple of laps around Guia Hill, up to the lighthouse and back through town. I never thought I would ever go anywhere that makes Las Vegas seem understated and refined but the unbelievable scale of the casinos in Macau dwarf their American counterparts. A crazy and surreal place.

The Thailand trip has sadly come to an end but next stop Macau, the degenerate capital of Asia, to finally get to work and hit the poker tables.

Running 42:00 [2] 8.3 km (5:04 / km)

Four days in Bangkok and I finally found somewhere (relatively) quiet to go running. Dodged the traffic along the streets from our hotel to Lumphini Park where the locals all seem to congregate in order to run around the perimeter loop track. Although "run" may be stretching the term somewhat as the spectrum of speeds on display ranged between walking and shuffling pace which, even in my current state of fitness, made me seem like Usain Bolt in comparison. At one point I was passing so many people that it felt like everyone in the park had suddenly stopped moving, until I realised that the Thai national anthem was being played and hundreds of people all abruptly stopped and stood in silence as a mark of respect to the king - surreal. Perhaps they could introduce the tradition for Her Maj in England - I'm sure that the Hillsborough Park scallys would happily join in a rousing rendition of God Save the Queen.

Running 26:00 [2] 5.2 km (5:00 / km)

I've carted my running kit around Malaysia and Thailand for the past couple of weeks but I finally took it out my bag today. Staying on Koh Mak, a cool little island in south-east Thailand near Cambodia, so headed out for a short run along the beach.
