This whole training challenge malarky hasn't gone too well so far. I've done some sporting activities over the last couple of weeks but I fear that a combination of snowboarding, paragliding, luging and poker isn't going to have much of a positive impact on my 5km running time. The lack of proper exercise has, however, had an impact on my weight as I'm back above starting stack now, perilously close to the 80 kg barrier again.

Figured I should climb some mountains while I'm still living in New Zealand so started with a slow ascent of Bowen Peak (1,631 m) from the top of the gondola: run/walk/scramble from Skyline up to the summit via Ben Lomond saddle and back down.
