Running warm up/down 15:00 [2] 1.3 km (11:32 / km)
shoes: Adidas Swoops

warm up, ankle feeling weak.

Orienteering race 40:25 [5] *** 7.94 km (5:05 / km) +158m 4:38 / km
spiked:12/15c shoes: Adidas Swoops

straight line distance 6.6k

just a bit of fun, was so tired.

1 good, ignored those on different gaffle well
2 chasing thos on shorter gaffle
3 track route..maybe not the best, in 2nd place
4 went straight which was slower, pack caught up and overtook.
5 extremely tired, rolled ankle and knee collapsed at the same time, felt horrible
6 left 5 in wrong direction, then found wrong control in the woods, lost the pack for good.
7 another cock up, didnt read description...was looking for a thicket not a pit.
8 easy
9 easy
10 easy
11 good but slow
12 spiked...but hesitated slightly
13 didnt read detail lost at least 2min, rubbish technique
14 good but v.tired
15 easy

very poor run, but doesnt matter that much.
felt worse physically this weekend than last weekend even though i had an easy week.

Note

i think partly the reason my ankle wasnt holding up well is down to my shoes...these swoops have done 300miles and are trashed. got some inov8's now so hopefully i wont have any more problems.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2] 1.75 km (11:26 / km)
shoes: Adidas Swoops

jog to start plus warm up drills.

Orienteering race 1:05:02 [5] *** 12.62 km (5:09 / km) +250m 4:41 / km
spiked:9/20c shoes: Adidas Swoops

straight line distance 11.3k

1 took it slow, still missed the control 30sec
2 easy leg, good
3 rough bearing wasn't great eneded up too low 15sec
4 bad route choice, marsh was very slow, 1min
5 good
6 outside of right leg started hurting, started to go numb, ran v.slowly 30sec
7 rolled my ankle then left hamsting got really tight, felt awful, poor route too along track. at least 1.30
8 didnt read map enough cos kris had caught me, lost contact 30sec
9 forest dump, enough said. 30sec
10 slow, almost stumbled across it
11 obvious
12 lost concentration, lost contact, took a while to relocate 1min
13 spiked
14 hesitated 10sec
15 vegetation confused me, saw my control but wasnt sure if it was mine 20sec
16 good but feeling tired
17 went to the control in the reentrant before 15sec
18 spiked
19 too far to the right 10sec
20 good but tapes were a little confusing

so 6.40 of mistakes
if i'd been feeling better physically today i know i could have done 60 with a good run. so many twinges and niggles throughout the race...i think it may have something to do with sleeping on a wooden floor last night!

Running warm up/down 22:14 [1] 3.48 km (6:23 / km) +50m 5:58 / km
shoes: Adidas Swoops

jog down to bingham early morning, then really slow jog back.

Orienteering 13:19 [3] *** 1.49 km (8:56 / km) +90m 6:52 / km
shoes: Adidas Swoops

planned to do as much of the 51 control CP as i could b4 lectures. stopped at no14 because i was tired from hills last night and it was way too early for me to concentrate properly, was half asleep. the controls i did do were okay, planning ahead wasn't good, and neither was fine nav in the control circle.

this will probably be the last time i run before the weekend.

didnt fancy track 2nite so joined in an enjoyable hill session.

roughly
4.15 (stopped early cos i didnt know how far up we were going)
4.08
4.09
4.11
3.53

took the first 4 steady, then ran hard on the last one. felt good tonight but no need to exhaust myself for the weekend. my kinda session.
