Running warm up/down 6:05 [3] 0.73 mi (8:20 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2008)

Orienteering race 44:41 [3] *** 3.65 mi (12:15 / mi) +150m 10:51 / mi
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2008)

Seward Park, 3.9k

Yeah, terrible race. Ah well.

Crosspasted from comment:

... My far and away biggest mistake was going down an indistinct (unmapped) trail about 10m before the actual trail on number two, cost me 5+ minutes. 5-6, I got lost on the trail that just vanished to the north of the control, and had to flounder around for a bit before I got back on a mapped trail (to be fair, I was trying not to lead the navy guy who was 50m behind me right to the control, so I ran for a while on the vanishing trail before it vanished instead of taking the smart route and turning around and getting on the actual trail). 8-9 I ran within 5m of the control but it was behind a rootstalk, but it was mapped as being in a re-entrant, so I didn't think twice, I went about 20m past it and then realized "wait, I've gone too far" and had to stop and figure out where I was, but that cost me a minute.

There were other places I could've cut time (I was walking up hills at the end... for some reason orienteering tires me out more than it should...) but those were the obvious things, I could've cut 9 minutes off no problem, which would've put me in first. Ah well.

Stretching/Yoga 10:00 [3]

Friday Nov 14, 2008 #

Running 19:17 [3] 2.25 mi (8:34 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2008)

Northacres x1, plus a quarter mile or so on the track. Max sprinted the last 200 quite quickly. I sprinted it somewhat less quickly. WIOL tomorrow!

Quantum of Solace - it was a good movie, but I was expecting more. I was stunned by the ending. I didn't think the Bond franchise was going to blatantly sell out like that. Ah well, I should've known better. (SEE THE MOVIE BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS!)

Stretching/Yoga 8:00 [3]

Running 24:20 [3] 3.02 mi (8:03 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2008)

350 miles on these shoes... =(

Haller with Max. WIOL Saturday! Quantum of Solace tomorrow! I'm psyched. I should get new shoes on Saturday...

Stretching/Yoga 10:00 [3]

Strength - Upper Body 1:00 [3]

anxiety pullups x10

Tuesday Nov 11, 2008 #

Running 22:55 [3] 3.0 mi (7:38 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2008)

Haller, reasonably fast. Nobody to run with, which makes Drew sad. (I went out way to fast - first mile was like 6:30. Luckily, I timed the lights so I didn't have to wait.)

Stretching/Yoga 10:00 [3]

Running 16:45 [3] 1.86 mi (9:00 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2008)

Running to Hamlin

Time includes lights.

Orienteering (teaching) 33:20 [3] 1.48 mi (22:31 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2008)

Running with Nat and Clayton. Nat shows promise, Clayton also could be good, if he isn't discouraged because he's a little behind Nat in terms of navigational skill.

Running Games (Walking) 16:00 [3] 1.1 mi (14:33 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2008)

Walking home from Hamlin

No car today, so I just had Max carry my stuff (some of us drove and some of us ran to Hamlin) in his car and then walked to my house from Hamlin.
