Running long 1:30:00 [3]

good run up pineapple track, feeling really weak and tired

Sunday Mar 30, 2008 #

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3]

Running tempo 30:00 [4]

was meant to go orienteering but still slightly drunk at 1130 in the morning, thats what happens when you only stop drinking at 5 so flagged and slept, way better intensity than I've had in a while when I finally went running

Saturday Mar 29, 2008 #

Running long 1:20:00 [3]

pretty sweet, don't know how I was surviving without iron tablets, feel so so much better and actually recovering from runs

Friday Mar 28, 2008 #

Running 50:00 [3]

nice cruise, hamstrings REALLY sore after stupid athletics starts, I am not a sprinter

Thursday Mar 27, 2008 #

Running tempo 25:00 [4]

round the reserve, had athletics as well which was why I cut it short, don't really think of 8x 60m and 1 200m intervals as training, found it really funny when they said I shouldn't do my run cause I'd tire myself out

Wednesday Mar 19, 2008 #

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Running tempo 40:00 [4]

pretty sweet, went pretty much right round the reservoir, had to do the last 5mins on the road cause I misjudged the time and knee started to hurt a bit but just gotta man up at this stage

Orienteering 55:00 [3]

back out to cuttance block, did relocation with Jack and we both tried to get each other really lost, worked sometimes, even went so far as to take him off the map which seemed to work for a while. Good just to practise and managed to get the name of the people for permission so we can start going out during the day

Monday Mar 17, 2008 #

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Running intervals 10:00 [5]

10 x 35secs with 25 secs recovery, ran out of time so had to have short recoveries, maybe good cause it kept my heart rate up more, felt pretty sweet, would've been faster if the grass wasn't wet

Sunday Mar 16, 2008 #

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3]

Running-off road tempo 25:00 [5]

had to cut my run a bit short cause I slept in and everyone was waiting for me to get back so we could begin crate day, felt alright a bit out of it for most of the run, potentially not completely sober yet

Saturday Mar 15, 2008 #

Running-off road long 1:40:00 [3]

cruised round the reservoir, some of pineapple track and oher places, quite slow as I wasn't feeling so hot after last night but still did it, also did 5x 3mins tempo, mostly uphill cause it was either uphill or downhill and downhill tempo seemed a bit pointless

Orienteering 1:15:00 [3]

who said they don't do orienteering down here?brian drew some courses for us to do on a contour only map, short one that I tried to do a bit faster and longer one, forest called cuttance block such cool forest, even managed to drag Jack out there and we were both raving about it. Good to use contour only, reminded me to simplify and practised making plans for each leg and traffic lighting, need to trust myself more, pulled up short on a few cause I started to doubt that I was in the right place when I was on a perfect bearing but 50m short. Going there on tuesday too, can't wait.

Note

knee was fine so stoked about that

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3]

Orienteering race 33:00 [4]

last summer series, finally a few running legs to get my legs going before nationals, first time running without drugs for my knee but only felt it in the green stuff, stoked that its better, just gotta make sure i don't do anything to it at orienteering tomorrow

Tuesday Mar 11, 2008 #

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Running-off road intervals 30:00 [4]

15 x 1mis with 1min recovery, so glad i went, was tempted to flag after my lab finished late but figured i was getting late dinner anyway so i might as well do something until then. legs felt quite heavy but probably just a bit tired from the weekend, only felt my knee on some of the rougher stuff

Monday Mar 10, 2008 #

Running 1:00:00 [2]

really easy recovery run, knee felt fine going uphill but kept feeling like it was going to collapse on the downhills, which was the whole second half of the run but way better than yesterday

Running-off road warm up/down 20:00 [1]
(injured)

don't know what I did but screwed my knee yesterday somehow, my first injury done while orienteering :( warm up seemed to help a bit but still really sore

Orienteering race 1:00:00 [3]
(injured)

sore knee may have been a good thing in the end, made me slow down quite a bit which on Naseby meant I read the map a lot better, still screwed up #10 which was in the open but not totally my fault with some dodge vegetation. Knee slowed me down a bit on the tracks but that was my usual route choice as it was really sore to bend to get through the yuck stuff on the ground. awesome map though

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Orienteering race 50:00 [4]

was going fine and absolutely loving it until I hit the clear stuff and got all excited and wanted to run fast and went in completly the wrong direction. not good

Orienteering race 20:00 [4]

was quite annoyed at myself after the morning, followed the tape to what I thought was the start with Bryn, it wasn't. After that screw up I managed to keep concentrating for the rest of it and was relatively smooth with a few dumb route choices

Running 30:00 [2]
(sick)

easy run before tomorrow, felt the best I have all week, still coughing a lot but legs feel like they may have recovered after the crazy orienteering on wednesday

Thursday Mar 6, 2008 #

Running warm up/down 30:00 [2]

Running intervals 13:00 [5]
(sick)

6 x 350m with 100m recoveries, a bit different to the plan but thought it was better than nothing, would've been nice if I wasn't coughing the whole way but helped make up my mind not to drink tonight

Wednesday Mar 5, 2008 #

Running warm up/down 57:00 [2]

turned out summer series was quite far away, chloe and i were glad we had each other to look weird with while running through the octagon

Orienteering race 44:00 [4]
(sick)

went for some dodgy routes, really muddy and slow and coughed the whole but otherwise all good, rosie is cool

Tuesday Mar 4, 2008 #

Note
(sick)

im thinking running in the rain and cold on sunday really was not worth it

Monday Mar 3, 2008 #

Note
(sick) (rest day)

wanna get better before this weekend, not worth it if I end up with a chest infection again

Sunday Mar 2, 2008 #

Orienteering race 1:26:00 [3]

orienteering at gladbrook, quite a cool map, would be awesome if it was covered in trees. Pretty smooth until #8 which i'd drawn in the wrong place on my map, starting to get sick too so didn't want to push it too much but had to go reso fast to stay warm as it was 7degrees, just a little chilly with a horrible wind. Rest of the course was pretty sweet

Saturday Mar 1, 2008 #

Running-off road long 2:00:00 [3]

went running with rhys, doug, tessa and claudia, up through the reservoir and up pinapple track to the top of flagstaff hill, legs hated it but as reece kept saying "feel the goodness", ended up with just rhys, doug and me which was really good cause it pushed me more, good to have fast boys to run with again
