Orienteering race 1:16:00 [4]

Tried to slow down today and mostly worked, still way too many mistakes but was in control for so much more of the race. Legs felt quite good but died up a couple of the hills

screwed up #1 and just all over the place after that, got to slow down and stay smooth, no point in running fast if I don't know where I'm going, really disappointed that I couldn't pull myself together after the first mistake. Need more orienteering training, good thing I'm going to Dunedin...

flagged the short sprint cause my legs just felt yuck and I didn't have time to get them going before the race started, nice cruise round course 3 though

horrible horrible, had made mistakes by #3 and just kept stuffing around and never really got into the map, very disapointed, the sole of my shoe came off as well so I was really slow down hills but still not an excuse to give up

did almost the whole first loop with Lizzie and Jo but then they had a different control and I realised i wasn't even competing against them so just cruised by myself for the rest of it

had a really good run, managed to stay smooth for the whole course, thought I did a dumb route choice but turned out I had the fastest split!legs felt good and encouraging seeing georgia ahead on the last few controls to push me at the end
