| FVO mass start night race planned by Ross with butterfly loops starting at #2. A bit of Halloween fancy dress to liven up the evening too! Everyone was rubbish at the orienteering - I missed 4 of the first 5 but kept catching up the leaders, couldn't keep up though! Caught Fraser up at #12 and Martin on the way to #15 when he got lost in the rhodies. Martin got away at #17 when I missed and Fraser took a slower route - he missed #18 and I found it but Fraser outsprinted me for the win. Need to do better than that though - was watching the other torches not the map far too often - will go back and rerun properly some time. |

| FVO track interval session - was just going to go for a post-OMM jog but felt okay so did the session, just a bit cautiously.
5 times 4 mins with 60 seconds recovery. Felt a bit more loose by the end so went further on the final rep.....felt quite nice and fresh still for the 6 sec sprints at the end, enjoyed them! |

| OMM day two - clear and sunny today. Not in the chase but earlyish start so were 7th or 8th team through most controls, I guess later there were some tracks through some of the tussocks. Did okay but not the best routes to #9 or #10 lost us a few mins on both. I was flagging badly on the way to 10 and Ali C and SGB caught us up - luckily it was almost the end so they couldn't ran away by long enough to beat us. We were 11th with two non-comp teams ahead - beautifully judged, missed a prize by one place and three mins so don't have to do the A next year! Beaten by an awful lot of Tullies though.... |
