Stirling Scottish Marathon
Knew my endurance was the likely weakness, but had a good plan and executed it well, you can't always be sure you got the best out of yourself but I am pretty sure today.
Having HR basically at (or even above) normal max of 161 for the last 40mins suggests I was digging in hard at the end!
Pleased :)

Note

Not sure if Great Run were paranoid about course being short after the fiasco with the Great Scottish Run half-marathon in Glasgow, but we did a surprise extra loop of about 100m at the beginning (turned left not right out of safari park and then U-turn after abut 50m to head in the expected direction).
Also given the Glasgow fiasco, then it was a bit surprising to find the 10km timing mat not many strides past the 6mile marker, well short of where it should be (at about 9.7km).
I think the 40km marker was a little early too, at that point I thought I was likely to break 2:59 then suddenly sub 3hrs briefly looked in danger!

Half-marathon mark seemed fine, official time 88:17
(making second half 91:07)

5km splits (from Garmin)

Short jog with a couple of accelerations for a bit of a systems check. Better than Thursday but not exactly floating along.

Tired today. Legs felt heavy. Calf tight. Hip flexor tight.
All in the mind I'm sure...

Note
(rest day)

Helsinki-Gatwick first thing.
Day in London office.
Heathrow-Edinburgh in the evening.
No desire for a late evening run even though the mountains were looking great in the sunset.
