Miami University Sprint - Course 3 (Red F-21)

Calf hurts, pulled it or something in yesterday's race. Felt like I was hitting the wall shortly after I started but kept pushing and did mostly run, though slowly. No big issues, most choices were just which way to run around the buildings.

College Suites - Sprint - Course 3 (Red F-21)

Absolutely no recovery from this morning, calf hurting even more. I did a lot more walking this time. Small mistake on the trails heading to 6, aside from that fairly clean, just slow.

Rentschler Forest - Red (F-21 World Ranking Event)

Beginning was very sprint-like in an old camp and I went out way too fast. Pretty beat by number 8 but tried to keep pushing through the woods. Two errors - number 13 (semi-parallel error, looking too early) and number 17 (complete and utter stupidity, running off in the wrong direction)

road run 18:36 [4] 2.0 mi (9:18 / mi)
shoes: Asics Trabuco

Started heading to the gym, then decided it was too nice to be inside. Came home and did the outside loop of my neighborhood. It is almost exactly a mile and fairly close to flat (some very moderate slopes)

First mile - 8:59
Second mile (walking see below)
Third mile - 9:37

Faster because I'm not limited to a set speed like on the treadmill, although I find running outside to be much more psychologically daunting. Somehow, looking at the vast expanse of road ahead of me makes me feel exhausted before I even start... LOL.

Also, I swear every yard has an invisible fence and a yipping mutt to shadow me down to the end of his property.

French Creek East -- Green. Navigating fairly clean as long as I had a plan. Lost time on 4 and 8 because I came contouring in without a real attackpoint in mind. My lower back hurt a bit in the beginning, as well as my right calf feeling tight, but both issues seemed to clear up as I went on. It was a beautiful day to spend out in the woods!
