kayaking 2:00:00 [2] 2.9 mi (41:23 / mi)

On the Susquehanna from Herndon with Daisha and her dad. We were out for 3 hours but only about 2 of that spent paddling. We also explored White's Island and the old house there (not so abandoned as I thought, as the island is farmed and it looks like somebody stays there at least during harvest time) and walked in by the Mahanoy Creek to look for eagles (of which we saw several).

Private lesson on James, who was apparently an ass to the kid who rides him during the show last night. So he needed an adult to boss him around a bit.

It's only raining, right? Made it about 2 blocks and nope, lightning. Intention counts for something, yes?

DVOA French Creek North - Green

Always a tough venue in the summer, and I don't usually do as well when the parks are green and the visibility low. So I expected floundering. Yet somehow I was on today and hitting straight into most of the controls. In fact, I only had a few small errors and they related to picking attackpoints along the trail. I felt a bit lightheaded at one point when I had to bend over (sometimes does happen because I have low blood pressure, and I have never actually passed out) but after that made sure to keeping sucking down lots of water and felt ok.

When I got back and started to change, I realized I forgot to bring a clean shirt. (Had all the other clothes though.) Wore my damp, clammy shirt all the way home. Yuck.
