QOC Little Bennett - Green

A very cold one. I was mostly ok with what I wore, although I could have used another shirt layer (everything between the bottom of my bra and my waist was chilly). I could cover all of my skin except my eyes depending on how I felt at the moment. I had a buff which covered my neck and I kept taking up and down to cover my nose and cheeks when they got cold. Winter hat, two shirts (long sleeve which also hooks over thumbs, and a short sleeve), gloves, two pairs of running tights, two pairs of socks, ankle braces, gaiters.

I contoured a little too extremely to the right on the way to 1. Saw a lot of people making a mistake and cutting left along the wrong stream as I headed to 2 (although I didn't find out for sure until later, thought maybe another course went over there.) Getting from 3 back over to the campground to use the road/trail option seemed to take forever. No problems with that far loop 4-9 but there were also pretty much elephant tracks (where the light layer of snow had been worn away). Intended to hit the field on the way to 10 but was too far right again (the green/slash was not as bad as it looks, at least this time of year). Knew as soon as I hit the top so headed left and skimmed by the corner of the field. Overall a fine course, though once again illustrating the poor shape I'm in physically.

Used new Forerunner 230, which worked just fine and has some nice features the old one didn't. It vibrated every kilometer which at first I thought was the buttons being hit accidentally under my clothes, but then figured out what it was up to.

Though I'm not logging every day, I have my friend's old Fitbit and have at least been attempting to do 10,000 steps per day. (Succeeded all but 8 days in the last month, most of those due to weather or other sedentary commitments after work such as family Christmas things.) So it basically gets logged if I have a big chunk left to do at the end of the day. Also logging food which was scary initially! And trying to get to fewer calories, which so far has just resulted in weight sticking around the same place it has been.
