Keeping fingers, toes, and everything crossed - but finally starting to feel a whole lot better. No sciatic pain at all the past few days, just muscle pain/soreness from the things that are still stretching out and some residual stiffness. At this point I think the right side can be definitely called cured - it's been pretty much fine for weeks - and the left side seems to be close. The back of the right thigh is still kind of weird where it had lost all feeling, but the sensation seems to be returning slowly so that will probably just take more time.
The takeaway from all of this is I need to be stretching probably every day for the rest of my life and before and after running. Expensive lesson.
