Battery Park in New Castle, DE and also through the old section of town. With Michael.
Yes, I skipped the tattered remnants of the training weekend for Pokemon Go Community Day instead.

walking 45:00 [1] 0.68 mi (1:06:12 / mi)

A different Battery Park in Delaware City. Here you could also ride a ferry to Fort Delaware State Park but it cost money and was getting too late in the day to be worth it.

walking 1:00:00 [1] 1.25 mi (48:00 / mi)

Walking around City Island at the Wish Upon a Food Truck Festival (and I did not pig out too much this year, so maybe the walking actually counts for something)

I had the day off (left over from when we were still planning to hold the training weekend - normally I'd be up there getting controls hung and things set up in the camp.)

So instead I did some website stuff and scheduled a few appointments, then headed out for a hike. I went to Muddy Run Park, where I haven't been for a very long time. I think we went there on a field trip sometime in elementary or middle school.

I knew there was a lakeside trail, but not where it was, so I parked as close to the lake as I could and just started exploring. I crossed a bridge to a small island, then the dam, and on the other side of the dam I found the trailhead. The trail itself is advertised as 2.7 miles, but it just kind of begins and ends in the middle of nowhere, so ultimately I went much longer.

The trail passed through a good variety of terrain and was pretty much always in sight of the water. There were a few areas where it got very narrow and went through thorns, stilt grass, and other overgrowth. But much of it was in nice open woods.

At the end I passed by the marina and noticed they rent kayaks reasonably ($15/hr and $8/additional hour) so I may have to come do that next year.
