Monday Mar 31

PE Class (Boxing) 55:00 [3]
Taught defenses against jab
Physical (Woods Intervals) 55:29 [5] 8.48 km (6:33 / km) +752m 4:32 / km
ahr:161 max:186 shoes: New Balance
Woods intervals IVO Round Pond/Black Rock Forrest.
3x1 min
3x1:30 min
3x1 min
All had jog back and a 1 minute rest

Very fun in the wet, made it a little bit slippery and more fun. Constant up hill slope for the intervals. They hurt Ohh Soo Good!

Actually used my first Gymnastics move in the woods (vaulting a log)

Knee was a little bit stiff during warm up, no problem in workout/cool down

Legs are going to feel great for the night!

Sunday Mar 30

Orienteering (Personal Practice) 1:19:39 [2] *** 6.84 km (11:39 / km) +618m 8:01 / km
ahr:146 max:197 shoes: New Balance
Went out with a map and just walked/jogged around with a map in the woods. Practiced looking for features from far away and in green. no specific points. Picked up O-Controls that had been left on ski slope for weeks. Also determined that the highest point in post is what remains of Redoubt 3.

Tried following a trail a found in the woods "Redoubt 3 Trail" Failed miserably, not on map so it was understandable.

Tried following a trail that was mapped in the woods on my return, failed again. Possibly should just end in the middle of the woods on the map because that is what it did.

Was able to examine control placement of Intramural Orienteering (ran into them), I classify their course setting ability as horrible but it is what happens when the course setters don't have that much experience.
Physical (Swimming) 45:00 [4]
Swam for a bit after my run. Good to loosen up.

PU and SU in my room.

Saturday Mar 29

Physical (warmUp) 9:34 [2] 1.25 km (7:39 / km) +91m 5:37 / km
ahr:141 max:164 shoes: New Balance 2
Warm up, around above cadet chapel and to grant turn around
Physical (Run) 12:34 [4] 3.29 km (3:49 / km) +71m 3:27 / km
ahr:178 max:189 shoes: New Balance 2
3Km run for GPB. Also did extra little to get judgment on 2 mile APFT time.

Too soon after breakfast but pretty good time. About 12:09 for 2 mile running to Thayer, around Buffalo Soldier, and back. Somewhat chilly. Should do better when I test. Legs still a little tired from this last week.

Friday Mar 28

Military (GPB Pistol Shoot) 1:00:00 [0]

Thursday Mar 27

Orienteering (Practice course (7-Finish) 57:08 [4] *** 7.12 km (8:01 / km) +360m 6:24 / km
ahr:164 max:188 spiked:6/7c shoes: New Balance 2
Ran start to 7 to finish. No Gaiters (RECOMMENDED HIGHLY) or Pants (Another thing needed)

Problems - overran 8, cut up legs, not feeling greatly energetic particularly from the start to 7 warm-up and the week's previous activities

Good - route choice to 9 was not too slow, route to 10 proved faster than most. Finding the blue flagging and not the bag much more technical. to 12 was quick. practiced technical routes throughout

Will be a good course for the A-meet. Goal time will be right around what is desired.

*Notes - Found a control just to the west of the start. Punch but no number or anything.
C • A-meet courses 2
C • Flagging 2
PE Class (Boxing) 55:00 [3]
Learned On Guard Stance, Jab, circle Left, circle right, forward, and backward movement.

Good workout on the legs to include the run to and from and the stairs from room and in Arvin.

Physical (Surface to Summit) 44:35 [4] 7.23 km (6:10 / km) +435m 4:44 / km
ahr:159 max:181 shoes: New Balance 2
Started at Ike, went down and touched the river (Literally) near north dock, Started up to the top, went by trophy point, Delafield Rd, then went cross country up to the road and then up.

Felt pretty good overall, legs burned too much to attempt to raise heart rate more, Knee was bugging me a little bit at the beginning, was just a little stiff from yesterday's workout.

After I reached the tower I went and ran out about 2:40 in the woods just behind the tower, Saw 5 controls (Two weeks are running). Also saw two permanent controls w punches.

Started coming down, saw two running up to the tower, also saw a Sandhurst group doing a litter carry up near the water treatment plant.

Came down through the woods West of the Jewish Chapel, saw one mil control. Also two weeks is running.

Good run, felt good, I will keep this run as a high option, will look into different routes just to see what will happen to the distance and total time.
