Monday Jan 21

hike 3:00:00 [2]5.1 mi (35:17 / mi)
Hiked up Old Rag today. Clear, windless, cold - temps in the 20's. The sunny day kept the air temps quite comfortable when out of shade. The trail was hard packed snow, but the rocky section was very icy and we had to scramble over some pretty bad spots. We got through the slot, the cave and the stairs but eventually had to turn around just below the top. Took a few spills on the ice but nothing hurt fortunately. I would't try that again in such conditions w/out treking poles and maybe even an ice axe.
