12 PM

run (treadmill) 59:29 [3] 7.0 mi (8:30 / mi)
shoes: Montrail Streak

again, if I do the "chi" running at this pace, I can relax and breath through my nose the whole time. pretty cool. this will be great for distance training.

Event: Raccoongaine

4 PM

O 30:00 [2] ***
6c shoes: Inov8 Mudroc

control pickup

Note

Erica and Nicole L were gone for at least an hour towards the end of the meet but we could hear them laughing and playing in the woods just away from the start. turns out they were building a "house" out of branches and sticks - which they were very proud of.

6 PM

bike 55:00 [3] 14.66 mi (16.0 mph)

yuck, still freezing + coudy + wndy. iive always hated March cold. Note - raised the seat a tad more fr a bit more leverage.

Thursday Mar 24, 2011 #

5 AM

swim 38:10 [3] 1.25 mi (30:32 / mi)

1 PM

run (treadmill) 51:20 [3] 6.0 mi (8:33 / mi)
shoes: Montrail Streak

note: adopting the "chi" form; leaning forward; short strides and forefoot striking under the COB, at least at this pace, makes such a difference in effort that I only need to breath through my nose. tested this for 2 miles, then sped up for a mile then went back to it for a mile w/ the same result. It was pretty interesting

run (treadmill) 24:50 [3] 3.0 mi (8:17 / mi)
shoes: Montrail Streak

Tuesday Mar 22, 2011 #

5 AM

swim 38:30 [3] 1.25 mi (30:48 / mi)

8 AM

bike 55:00 [3] 14.66 mi (16.0 mph)

Note: raising the seat a bit really increases power and mechanical advantage; and having it too low does the opposite
2 PM

run 47:51 [3] 6.3 mi (7:36 / mi)
shoes: Montrail Streak

ran ok, but my stride felt off again, especially on the left - opposite my bad knee
6 PM

bike 55:00 [3] 14.66 mi (16.0 mph)
