Note
Butterfly Trail, Mt. Lemmon.
I've hiked 'bout two hours a day this hitch, less on the first few days, more on the last few. About 1000 feet of climb on the last few days, much less on the first. Because of chainsaw training (vroom vroom!), we only only worked 7 days on the trail, but next hitch should have 9 or ten work days, plus a lot more hiking. The elevation's about the same as Laramie, and it took my lungs about five days to forgive me.

Doing a metric ton of abwork every day, and walking a bunch on the days off in town. Unfortunately, it turns out that I didn't pack any shoes (just boots and oversized sandals), so I can't go running yet. Later, maybe!

I think the local club holds meets on the weekends that I don't have off.

The people are quality. My shoulders are fine.

They sell Gookinade in the surplus store. :D
C • Gookinade! 1
Note
Also, I found a land agency guy teaching people how to orienteer at the festival outside of the library! Only his version of orienteering was "set your compass to the degree written on this piece of paper and then walk in that direction for the number of paces written on this piece of paper."

One of the fellows he was talking to asked me why my compass was strapped to my thumb, so rather excitedly I showed him all the nifty features and how to use a map with the thing, and told him that it could be a pretty sweet sport too.

I was pround of myself.

Vertical kicking in the pool of a cheap motel. Prolly a bad idea, but it was 7 feet deep, and I wanted to talk with the other people in there.
